Ebay catches the 360 fever
Ever get the feeling some people are just out to profit from the
alleged shortage of 360s? And who knows how bad this "shortage" may even be?
Regardless, it won't be long before we find out. One thing we can be certain
about is that a lot of people are hitting up eBay for their Xbox 360 fix. And
it shows: reports say that since this morning 3,000 units have been made
available on the auction site for pre-sell.
How much do you think people are
willing to pay? The article also goes on to say that over the past two weeks
9,000 units have been pre-sold at an average price of $550! Of course a lot of these have been sold with games included. It's like Tickle Me Elmo all over again, except fun. So how many fanboys out there plan on getting their 360 from eBay?

I plan on doing the reverse: showing up and hopefully scoring an xbox 360 at best buy, then unloading it on ebay. Unless i dont make enough money on it. then i'm gonna ipod away.

Not I. I'm heading out to get one tomorrow morning and if I don't get one, I'll just wait. I'd never pay a premium.
Mark @ Nov 21st 2005 7:54PM
Same here. I'll wait as long as I have too just to save the extra bucks. I like to see some honest customer reviews.

I leave in a small town full of old people. I got no problem providing the rich city folk with their fix ;)

Mwaha, I gave EB my money long ago, and am 14th on our list! They're opening at 6am, and called the first 20 people ahead of time so that we could have 15 minutes private shopping at the store (they bring in a few people at a time before they open, so people start coming in at 6 and go until 9 or something). We'll get free coffee and donuts, and none of this standing in line foolishness.
Go Canada!

Got my premium guaranteed from a well known high-street electrical store who have had NO pre-orders (plus brother in law works there!), but it's 50 mile away.
I'd never buy over-the-odds for one, just think the people who are doing it are morally wrong.

I'm getting mine for free, but I have to wait until the 7th. I suppose I could try and get one early and roll the free one... hmmm.
polvo @ Nov 21st 2005 10:56PM
I got mine on ebay. And thanks to ebay I've been playing with it since this weekend. I also did not have to pay thousands I paid normal price and it came with two games.

I think it's nuts to buy it off ebay for that much. This being said, I just set my parents up with ebay and paypal accounts and showed them how to use it so that they could get my brother one. Talked to them and they won an auction for $630 (for the premium system). OUCH.
polvo @ Nov 22nd 2005 1:08AM
Mayo, I don't care if you don't believe me but I'm the one already with the 360.
Everyone who won the Hex168 contest received the system last tuesday and the mountain dew contest received them on saturday. The seller had won one of these. Alot of the winners were selling them on ebay. And thats how I got one early.
Who's the dork now? Oh wait that would still be me for even bothering responding to your comment.
adamsb @ Nov 22nd 2005 1:59AM
Now that I've got one, perhaps I could make some extra cash like Ryan up there...
Nah, what am I saying. Excuse me while I get back to PDZ.

Mine's going right from EBGames to a guy 2 miles form me that bought it on ebay for $700. I can wait to enter the next gen for a $300 profit. :)

everyone that waisted their money on a 360 opening day is sick. And if you paid that much, you should have used it to go see a therapist. I personaly wont get one probably till next Xmas, when they drop the price to try and sell MORE next year. Look at the gamecube $100... no, less then that isn't it? Remember: Patience is a virtue.
Phil @ Nov 23rd 2005 8:08PM
Nonsense, Patience is for poor people.
I walked into Gamestation, sold my way to 137 credit with ex. review copy/competition stock from my old site and pre-ordered recently to get early January. Heads will roll if I don't get one of those cute little media remotes, though.
I also fronted an additional 1200 for a large, high definition, audio visual peripheral. Word is they call it a "tv". Fancy that!
