How scratched discs happen
The folks over at Llamma sure are busy. A lot of you are having problems with scratched discs, and by delving into the innards of the 360, they've found the culprit--part of the laser housing. It's surprising how easy it is to ruin a game worth almost as much as the console (or so it seems), so don't try this at home. Keep your console still while any discs are spinning, and you should be OK.

That is a gruesome sound, like something out of a horror movie.

I've read a couple claims of scratched disks *without* moving the console.
Anybody had that problem?

my THAW disc is scrathed to hell and my pd0 disc has like a hole in it (its strange really). Yet, both games run just fine in the system. This does worry me for future use tho.
