Top 10 most popular XBLA titles
IGN managed to obtain the
official top 10 list of most popular Xbox Live Arcade titles ranked by sales:1. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved
2. Gauntlet
3. Smash TV
4. Bejeweled II
5. Zuma
6. Bankshot Billiards
7. Outpost Kaloki
8. Mutant Storm Reloaded
9. Joust
10. Wik: Fable of Souls
We all could have guessed that Geometry Wars was going to be number one (it is their Halo after all) but it's surprising to see the relatively overpriced ($15 / 1200 Microsoft Points) Bankshot Billiards coming in as high as it does. Watch out for more $15 titles in the future; it's almost a guarantee that Street Fighter II Hyer Fighting will command a premium. How much are you willing to spend on an XBLA title?

I would imagine Bankshot Billiards is there because it is a free download if you buy the 12 month Live Gold box.

If the title was good and had as many features as the big name titles and kept me interested for a while I would pay the same price as boxed titles.

Um...I think Bankshot Billiards was well worth the price of 1200 points. I love it.

I'd be upset if Street Fighter 2 Turbo costs more than $15. You can get that with a bunch of other classic Capcom arcade titles for $20, albeit without online play. Heck, it's not even Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.
If any game is worth $20 on XBLA, it's Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.

I would spend up to $25 on street fighter online, but don't tell capcom... I really would rather spend about $10-$15.

I'm not surprised by Billiard's rank either; in my experience it's by far the most approachable game for non-gamers. Various family played on my 360 during Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the gameplay always turned back to Billiards.

#6 is definately the best around.

I wont spend a dime ever for an arcade game (unless a game like goldeneye or perfectdark64 where ported over with online play)
sorry, but the days of gaming where I spent money to play games that could be beaten in under 30 minutes are over. I will not pay for any old games on live unless they offer me a value of longivity (like a goldeneye online would). Hell I dont even need a 1 player mode, just online multiplayer
Right now the only XBLA game I own is Hexic HD because it was free (and I dont evne play that). I will download the texas holdem game coming soon because it is suppose to be free.
jCsickZ @ Jan 20th 2006 12:10AM
dude... you couldn't beat any of the current XBLA games in half an hour. I would bet my 360 on it.
Don Wilson @ Jan 20th 2006 1:16AM
I agree with #8 (not the bet, tho ;)).

I can't believe Wik is only @ #10. That game is awesome. & worth every point.
Don Wilson @ Jan 20th 2006 5:56PM
#11, have you tried the PC version? I think, in many respects, it's a lot better, though I'm glad to see the same quality on the 360.
