Datel's Transfer Kit for the Xbox 360

The guys over Maxconsole have some great info on a new data transfer kit from Datel. Apparently this thing has the capability to transform your PC into one huge storage device that can benefit the 360. Using the software called Xchange 360, this enables gamers to dock their memory unit and simply plug it into the USB port of any PC.
Backup or share gamesaves, media, user data and anything else you can get off the system. This could also have some really easy homebrew applications as well. While the software currently only works with entire memory card images, the article suggests that once an alternative shows up, this device could essentially cut modchips and hacks out of the picture.

well there goes the point of achivements. Now the crappy user can just download a saved file with perfect dark agent complete in PDZ and load it while logged into xbox live. Instant achivements.

The left tab looks like it supports a hard drive...I hope they make a usb adapter for it.

thanks, but I'll use my mp3 player/USB instead of buying overpriced portable media

From what I understand this type of device will not be a shortcut to getting massive achievment points. Check www.360gamesaves.com for more related info.

Below is taken from www.360gamesaves.com
"If I download a saved game file, will this unlock the achievement as well?
Unfortunately it will not. If you want the achievement points you will need to actually achieve them yourself. When you meet the goal to get the achievement, it activates the achievement in the actual game. The achievement has nothing to do with the actual saved game file.
For example, if you download a game save that has every level of Call of Duty 2 unlocked, you will not automatically receive the achievement for "Completing Basic Training" or "Won the War."
Again, this will not unlock achievements if you download these game files"
Thought it might be helpful, however this device looks like it will be a good alternative to hacking your own memory unit up.

This sounds like the old DexDrive for the PS1 back in the day.

Tucker should read before commenting.. he would know that you can't save game information on portable USB devices, like an iPod
Tucker, 0/10 for that comment

I think this is great. A good way for people to send files to the XBOX 360 that dont want to bother with the Media Center Link...

I wonder if you'll be able to us this in some way to transfer original Xbox saves to your 360?
