BF2MC demo hits XBLM March 24
Now
that EA owns 100% of
Digital Illusions CE, it's good to know we can download 100% of the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat demo
available this Friday
according to their official site:If you want to experience all-out 24 player Xbox Live action in eye-bursting next-gen graphics, make sure that you download the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat demo, which will be available for download over Xbox Live Marketplace from March 24.
Forget eye-bursting graphics, I'll be impressed if an anticipated demo shows up on the scheduled date for once.

How are you gonna get 24 player multiplayer when you can't even run a 8 player COD2 game 25% of the time.

Because COD2 was coded like crap. But ea is no different. Most of EA's games I could not get to work on my pc. I had to patch them all for them to work. So I'm guessing that it will be the same here. Say whatever you want now to get people to buy the game and then patch it later. Heck maybe there using there own servers.

I think EA is using there own servers, I've been playing burnout and I'm pretty sure its saying so.. but hell that might not mean anything. I love BF2 gameplay, if only ea wasnt involved, took like 8 patches for it to even be playable.. effin shovelware.

It will be fun to see if BF2: MC's launch for the 360 will be better than for the original xbox. If you look up in the dictionary how not to launch a popular title - BF2: MC for the original xbox is right there.
For those that remember, BF2: MC launched for the xbox that week in 2005 when MS pulled Xbox Live down on a Monday for anticipated forthcoming 360 renovations. I was hyped about the game and tracked it down on Wednesday. Got home, popped it in and... ouch!
Laggy servers and a constant problem with the stat/rank tracking right out of the box. Sure they did patch it and heck we even got a free map pack download, but now months later try playing BF2: MC for the current xbox. It's a lagfest on every server.
Simply put, this is perhaps the most lusted after title coming out for the 360 for me and if they blow it hard again, I will have full rights to be maximally pissed.

I really doubt this demo will come out on a Friday. Major Nelson said it himself that XBL Marketplace content will never be released on a Friday. There has to time there for the XBL team to address possible snags with the release.. when they are working.
