Psychonauts willing its way to BC List
Peter Moore may think backwards compatibility is for chumps (or does he?), but some of us would like to enjoy our Xbox classics. Psychonauts has been an especially vocal candidate for the back compat list lately. Tim Schafer, creator of Psychonauts, even launched an email campaign to get the game on Microsoft's sacred list. It looks like the petition got someone's attention over in Redmond, because a Microsoft back compat team member was compelled to post this on the IGN forums last week:
"Rest assured, we are working on Psychonauts."
Good news indeed. Now if they could just do something to make the game sell...

Awesome! I've been wanting to play Psychonauts for awhile...now I'll finally get to!
Now if they'd just fix the graphical glitches with Thief: Deadly Shadows...

I will make a promise to every person who reads this. If Psyconauts goes back compat by the end of.... lets say September, I will go out and buy it without a second thought.

What an outstanding game. One of the only reasons why my original xbox is still plugged up to the TV.

To answer the question in the original post, they could easily do something to make it sell - release it for the 360, with 1000 points to be gained rather than as a BC XBox game. Don't worry about upgrading the graphics or anything like that; the lure of points will suck a LOT of people in. I'm one of them.

They just want everyone to stop emailing them to add it. So, show your support... send 2 more requests for Psychonauts to be added to the bc update. ;-)

I keep being told it is or at least was available to buy in Australia but I have never seen it in the stores and all the online stores have it lists as on back order.
How can companies complain of low sales when there is no stock for people to buy?

Yep, they're working on it. Along with 600+ other Xbox games. It'll be ready when it's ready and no sooner. Making it the object of special focus would only matter if it were very close to running already.

I own this for XBOX and I would buy it again for 360 if it offered points. I got every single figment (that was hard), mental cobweb, etc in the game - but you don't really get much for your efforts (a different ending video). I would have settled for some Xbox live points! :) This game is awesome! Instead of e-mailing about BC, e-mail about a sequel!!!
