Dog left alone with 360: carnage ensues
It's Monday. Monday's suck. You're stuck at work (or school) and it sucks. Just remember it could be worse. You could be this guy:
"i opened the door to my apartment the other day and found this..."
The 360 looks unharmed, thankfully. I have to say I empathize with the dog, though. If I was forced to stare at a 360 for hours, knowing full well that I didn't have thumbs and would never be able to play it, I'd go crazy, too. Hit the read link for a picture of the culprit.
Oh, and if you really dislike your job, don't forget that we're hiring.

Haha, well written.
360 on the carpet though? That's certainly not good for heat issues.

Yeah, I don't like how that 360 is on the floor, but why is it in the middle of the room too...it doesn't look like he's stretching for room to the couch. What is he thinking....

I am starting to wonder about all these issues with the 360, the lockups and the red circle of death. Well, you have people like this that put there XBOX 360 on the carpet, "Static Magnet". I mean really people. Lets just put it on the edge of the toilet while you put the controler in the toilet and try and hit the X. I mean really!

While I'm sure some 360 problems are due to ESO errors, I know all too well they can just break. I had 2 units with the red circle of doom and they were both kept on their own shelf of a component tower with plenty of space.

Nobody is denying they CAN just break, but I agree its probably true that the number is inflated due to some truely stupid people who just do not RTFM.
Like people who said "but I was able to play my other consoles on the floor". Well actually, EVERY electrical appliance says "do not use on carpet" amongst other things. Just because you "could" do it and not have any problems doesnt mean you ever "should" have. The fact is newer technology gets hotter and you have to be more careful.
Only last week I was using my laptop during the hot weather and it didnt reach well so I had the PSU balanced on the back of the sofa. I picked it up and nearly burnt my hands thinking "woah, id better move it". NORMALLY it works fine there but during the hot weather it was just deflecting the heat back into the PSU, it smelt like the plastic was going to melt. Did I blame the manufacturer? No, it was my own fault for not putting it somewhere well ventilated. Fortunately it survived as its not as powerful or complex as the 360 PSU but im sure its decreased its lifespan.
Just like my friend whoes PS2 went up in smoke. Was it Sonys fault? Im pretty sure not, he NEVER cleaned the vents at the back and it was full of dust. I hate Sony and I think their hardware is very unreliable, but in that case it was totally not their fault. Now when the PS2 laser burns out from too much loading in Getaway (I had that happen in about 2 hours once with a brand-new laser) - that IS their fault.
So yes, some faults DO exist but NEVER underestimate stupid end users! Im sure everyone has mistreated their hardware from time to time (mistreated as in not obeyed the manual) but we are too quick to critisise the manufacturer than outselves for being careless.
