P8 demo alive and slo-mo kicking (and UMK3!)

Somewhere in the dark of night, the Project 8 demo finally slipped onto Xbox Live Marketplace. We were at the movies (the Prestige kicked ass) so, we're not sure if the demo made it onto Marketplace before midnight as promised or not. Of course, we're sure some of you were watching for it, and know exactly when it came out.
And now, the other good news: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is now available on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 points. We're not sure if someone screwed up or if someone's is just making amends with all the gamers who wanted their P8 demo earlier, but there you have it. Hell, maybe they actually meant to release it on a weekend instead of a Wednesday. After all, MS works in mysterious ways. We're downloading both right now. Anybody tried these yet? Are they awesome? Not awesome?

Project 8 was surprisngly good. I never play skateboard games (and have never skateboarded in real life) so I had no idea what I was doing. I was mostly just pressing buttons and I happened to do tricks. I liked running into people. I even ended up getting a single hospital bill that was worth 50k. Sweet. That's mainly why I've never skateboarded.
As far as Mortal Kombat goes...well it hasn't shown up on my Marketplace. That and I'm too busy playing Lumines. I'm addicted!

Glad the demo didn't take too long to be released, better late than never they say
And woo UMK!

MS seams to be having problem adding content to the market place, both MK3 game and the P8 demo disappeared from live not long after the went up. Looks like they have it fixed now though

Wow, this demo comes in on the light side.. 300+ Mb.. Gotta be one of the smallest I can recall seeing..
Hope its good.. Ive kinda got sick of THPS releases.. All the same, only lil changes..

Slo-Mo kicking is awesome but annoying when you dont get it down perfect.

Downloading now. Can't wait.
I got bored of the THPS realeases after 4.
2 and 3 were easily the best.
I remember having the 2 demo for the original playstation for ages playing marceille over and over and over again till release day.

I got mortal kombat 3 downloaded and i have played it before they took it away. It logs my off of live thought everytime I play it for some reason. Baybe because I am not suposed to have it and it doesn't want it showing up or something. Anyway If anyone wants video I can shoot some and post it somewhere!

Oh My my spelling is really bad. Sorry about that. I keep jumping between by 2 laptops and they have way different layout and it messes me up.

The Project 8 demo is great stuff. The only thing I hate is the fact that I have yet *another* game to add to my list...November is going to be brutal on wallets.

Anyone else have their 360 freeze during the Rodney whatever challenge when you have to do a 3000 slow-mo trick?

I really began to hate the Tony Hawk series because is was the same over and over so I didn't hold out much hope for this one aside of the fact that it looks gorgeous. At first I thought, wow more of the same with a hard to use trick interface that didn't seem much use except for eye candy and flip tricks. After about an hour with it though, I am blown away at the flexibility of the trick system once I had it all figured out. I can't say this is going to be a GREAT TH game, because lets face it, how different can a TH game be at this point? But this one is definately fresh to say the least. It's a little frustrating at first, but once you can slip the sloimo into a sick line a few times, you'll be amazed at it's potential. I also love that you can control your skater after a wipe out to maximize bone breakage!

To those out there playing the TH demo, there is something on the online leaderboards that I can't figure out yet. There are leaderboards for 4 challenges: The filmmaker one, The trick variety one, the spot challenges one, and then one called "Planed Turf War". Anybody know what the Turf War one is or how to activate it? What am I missing?
Thanks!

Wow this is really fun!!
Didn't think they could really spice up the old fornula enough to make it interesting but somehow they did.

Great demo appart from a few bugs like the crazy ragdoll errors and it has that annoying virtically stretched widescreen problem that PGR3 had when running 1280x1024 on vga. I really hope this is fixed so that it comes up locked widescreen or true full frame (like PGR3 switching to 1024x768 fixes it as a workaround but then it's not as tasty lookin :( ) REALLY hope they fix this before release or in an update
