1UP confirms Halo 3 news, more to come

1UP has officially confirmed the Halo 3 info that we uncovered earlier today. What's interesting is that they reveal all the same details that we discovered. Obviously, this can't be all that there is to the EGM cover story or 1UP wouldn't spill the beans. After all, why buy the magazine if 1UP already told you everything, right? 1UP does reveal another detail or two that we didn't have earlier. One, there will actually be three SKUs of Halo 3, a standard, collector's, and the aforementioned "Legendary" edition. Two, 1UP hints that Halo 3 will include an in game recording option, allowing budding machinima creators to make their own movies, or letting vets record their best runs. 1UP promises to have three solid weeks of Halo 3 coverage. Stay tuned for all the latest info, and be sure that we'll give you the lowdown on the cover story when it shows up in our mailbox.

I dont get it...
Why push a bunch of Halo 3 information when the game is a whole damn year away?!?
We have Gears coming our Rainbow Six, and others... and the big news is Halo 3?
Dont get me wrong, Halo kicks ass, but is it not premature for all this. It really wont take the wind out of PS3s sails just talking about it.
although a Halo 3 multiplay demo for live on the 17th would be nice... a pipe dream... but nice

The movie recording feature sounds pretty cool. I wonder if they'll be able to somehow let you take them over to your computer so you can edit video together.
Also, the single player should have a camera feature like PGR3. Pause the game, then freely move the camera to take a photo and apply effects. This would make for some cool Dashboard backgrounds. This wouldn't make much sense in multiplayer, though... ("Hey don't shoot! I'm taking a picture...").

Bungie always releases a lot of information during October and November of the year they launch a game. Always.

Omfg love the crazy new Halo3 info... hot damn this is great.
Btw I think the 3 SKU thing is a very, very easy way to make even more dough from this next Halo... cuz now I have to get the Legendary version, and if I don't I'll be a loser

The in game recording feature is a bad idea, for those who know Halo machinima already you know how swamped it is with 13 year olds trying to copy Red vs. Blue, this will just ruin the reputation of any serious machinima makers who use Halo as an engine because unless they are film students or professional directors the films won't even be considered worthy of seeing by any one outside of reviewers.

Does bungie think we are not on to them. If Halo is suppose to be coming out in 07 why release pics now instead of 3 months before it comes out, it does not make any sence at all. When Halo 2 was coming it took about another 3 months to hit stores, this is exactly the same pattern we are seeing with Halo 3. I believe it will be in stores by March or April.

we can only hope... I know there are a lot of other good games coming out, but nothing compares to halo, its sad but its true. Whether its the amazingness of the game, or just the fact that there are just so many more people playing it at once, something keep me going back to halo 2, even though i have a 360. But I fear I am starting to get bored of it (maybe thats a good thing tho...) but I really can't help thinking bungie could speed it along a little bit, cuz i'm bored of waiting.
