Gears composer interviewed

IGN has an interesting article where they interviewed the composer of all those pretty sounds you hear in Gears of War Kevin Riepl. In the interview, Kevin discusses how he came up with the feel of the music, what inspired him and how much interaction there was between him and the devlopment team. It's actually kind of interesting to get to see this side of the development process, one a lot of people don't think about. Head on over to IGN and hear (get it, hear him ... yeah) what Kevin has to say about his experience working on Gears of War.

Did anybody else see the Gears logo on the wall and think 'Cog tag! Where's the cog tag?'?

I actually wasn't that impressed with the Gears soundtrack, a lot of the music seemed to come at inappropriate times, like really dramatic music would just happen when i was walking through a cave. naybe they could have timed it better.

The music is the one thing that stood out to me in the game actually. I never really notice much music, but this game's music was absolutely outstanding. When you're in the middle of a gun fight down behind cover and you hear that exciting music playing it gets to the point where you even forget you're playing an Xbox 360.

I feel that Gears had one of the best soundtracks for any game in a while. The music did stand out as being different and much better than most. Halo, Gears and select others that have wonderful music really make you feel immersed in the game environment that you feel like your watching a movie. Most games you just love to hear your own tunes but this one stood out. Gears is everything it has proven to be, just plain aswesome.

I didn't like the Gears soundtrack at all.
I agree with the above poster that the timing is inappropriate, casually walking down a corridor with epic fight music playing etc.
Not only that, but I just simply didn't like any of the tunes.

Dustin, man, sorry to have to call the grammar police on you, but someone needs to start proofing your entries before you post them. Your seeming understanding, or lack thereof, of syntax, structure, and composition is equalled only by third-graders and retarded kittens.
I mean, c'mon man! This is your JOB!

I thought the music was okay, I would definitely consider downloading it :)
