Rock it dude, GoW music downloads

After reading the interview with the mastermind Kevin Riepl, who's behind the music of Gears of War, are you dying to get your hands on the video game soundtrack? Fear not fanboys, because you can download a sample of the main theme song and Locust battle tracks for free. Damn does this music sound badass, it's very edgy and just makes me want to play some Gears right now. Who's loving the sounds and music Kevin Riepl has put together for this game? After hearing these sample tracks I'm definitely picking up a copy of the soundtrack, how about you?

The music in this game IS really good. I've found myself thinking that on more than one occasion while I play it, which is saying a lot for an action game.

I actually e-mailed Kevin Riepl not too long ago, thanking him for a job extremely well done and also asking him when they'll release a cd.
According to Kevin, Epic is hoping to release it somewhere around the holiday season/new year.
Definitely picking getting it and such a nice guy Kevin Riepl is !

Your Theme song link is messed up. It links to the locust battle song. Digg has the correct links though.

Let's have a switch - have Riepl do Halo 3 and Martin do GoW 2 :p

Nice...Have they announced that they are going to release a soundtrack for Gears?

Can anyone confirm the rumor that in "March of 07 (0307) Microsoft will be realeasing a S.E. 360 with 70 GB HDD that has the Halo 3 beta preloaded"?

I was actually thinking how under-hyped the soundtrack was while playing it last week. There are some tracks which really make you sit up and get more involved - unfortunately it wasn't one of the above downloads.
Although, I wasn't entirely happy with the way a certain song would loop over and over again while doing some of the bigger battles. One example of this is at the end of Act 3, while facing the 7 or 8 Theron Guards at the pumping station. The track must have repeated six or seven times while playing on Insane, as it takes a while to get past those damn Torque Bows.

That is an extremely unlikely rumour there, Ronan. 1. Microsoft hasn't comfirmed bigger drives. 2. Bungie will hold a beta only to those who signed up on their site tomorrow and get invited. I'm guessing that the "March 07" part was from the commercial in which a license plate had "HAL 307" which a Bungie guy confirmed on another board was Halo 3 07, giving us not much more information.
Also, this soundtrack is awesome. I like Riepl's whole brass-orientated themes throughout Gears. But like someone said, I wished they were longer, or more themes as to prevent looping.
Endejas @ Dec 3rd 2006 2:25PM
the license plate was "HAL O307"**

From the moment I got in my firt battle I already thought how well the music was done. The mix with the gameplay makes it even sweeter (gun firing, people yelling, etc. :))
mark @ Dec 5th 2006 11:39PM
i kept yelling 'shit!' and 'ahhh, come on!' while listening to these mp3s.
only then did they feel complete ;D
