Halo 3 website is (sort of) live [update 1]

Update: Many of you have already seen it, but it looks like the link to the registration page has been found. Click here for more info.
Halo3.com, the mysterious place where registration for the Halo 3 beta will take place, is now active. Before, it would merely redirect you to Bungie.net, whereas now it features the Halo 3 logo and a message to "Check back 12.04.06." We can't help but notice that today is 12.04.06. Also, we had a little trouble opening the page in Firefox -- it asked us to install Flash, which is already installed ... weird. Still, the site is up, and hopefully it will open for business later today.
[Thanks Glenn and Zack]

Bennyishere @ Dec 4th 2006 2:36PM
Odd... I'm still being redirected to Bungie.

I think that's just how the site is set up. Lower down it asks you to click on a link to actually enter the site.
Doesn't matter much since the page it links to apparently isn't even uploaded.

Redirects to bungie.net in firefox but not in IE.
Strange :/

Hopefuly it will the regestration will come online while im still awake here in the UK, if not ill stay up till the AD comes out at 2AM

WTF? It doesn't work in WebKit browsers or Gecko browsers, which make up 100% of the Mac browser market. Just because I don't use Windows doesn't mean I don't want Halo 3…
J.LOCK @ Dec 4th 2006 2:23PM
Only works in IE for me, firefox has flash 9 installed but site won't recognize it.
Maybe its microsofts ploy to get you to use the new IE which magically has tabbed browsing now.

Yikes! Doesn't work in Safari 2.0 either! Then again this is Microsoft we're talking about here, more or less, I wouldn't expect anything less from the Nazis of software.

cRANKbALL @ Dec 5th 2006 4:35AM
ohh shit- nice work.. But do you think Bungie will be pissed off that we just signed up before the site launched?
moksha @ Dec 4th 2006 5:04PM
@7
Thanks for that, I finally got signed up thanks to your link.
Wil @ Dec 4th 2006 5:18PM
Hope they don't disqualify anyone for signing up earlier than the website going live... :P

nice detective work. wonder if they'll dismiss the early sign ups, for being so sneaky. good stuff
Spartacus @ Dec 4th 2006 5:12PM
jc,
If that is a legit workaround, you are awesome. Here's hoping that it actually accepts any "unofficial" submissions...
For any Halo fans, click jc's link for "early" beta signup.

It still might be a good idea to register again when the public site comes up.
