Lost Planet demos hit 1 million downloads

Capcom announced today that the single-player and multiplayer demos of Lost Planet have been downloaded over 1 million times combined. Additionally, Capcom states that hundreds of thousands of hours have been spent playing the Lost Planet demos. Considering that the multiplayer demo has consistently landed on the top 10 Live games for several weeks now, this is hardly surprising. No doubt, Capcom hopes that the hundreds of thousands of demo players will translate to hundreds of thousands of retail copies being sold when the game ships.
Of course, there's a big difference between zero dollars and sixty dollars. Have you played this demo extensively? Will you pony up the dough for the full version?

Capcom knows how to do a demo. The Dead Rising demo resulted in huge sales. It's pretty clear that they're looking to repeat that success.
All hail new 360-exclusive IP!

The multiplayer demo left me confused. Based on that, I wouldn't buy it. Perhaps I should have downloaded the single player demo first.

The single player left me wanting more...
The multiplayer left me wanting to make more room on my hard drive (as in get that crappy demo off my hard drive) I think it will be a good rent.

Yeah I couldn't figure out the multiplayer demo either. I'm waiting for reviews on this one-- looks like it has potential, but I can't get a sense of it from the little I've played.

Loved both Demos. January is my birthday so it'll be my birthday gift to me. Graphically the game is stunning, fun & easy to understand. I'd say Capcom has a bonafide hit.

same game as freedom fighters -- only no squad commands.
