Reminder: CES keynote is tonight

Just a reminder that you can watch the live broadcast of the CES keynote tonight at 6:30 PST presented by Mr. Billionaire himself Bill Gates. Tonight, simply head over to the Microsoft at CES website for a live feed of the keynote, but be warned that it does require Windows Media Player to work. This keynote is where the rumors of the new 360 with HDMI and 120GB HD or IPTV talk will be confirmed or denied. Or maybe we'll hear about a new Zune that is more video game based, finally fulfilling the rumors of the Xboy. No matter what is announced we'll see what's really planned for the Xbox 360 in 2007. Get excited, be prepared, and watch live tonight at 6:30 PST.

Jeremy @ Jan 7th 2007 5:32PM
I don't get it, I though CES was in June?
Justin @ Jan 7th 2007 5:36PM
Is there anyway to catch this on tv?
Kid Pyrrhic @ Jan 7th 2007 5:37PM
Nope, CES is always at the beginning of the year.
Against everything ever said, I'm hoping they may unleash Worms a la Doom during the TGS keynote.
Lazrius @ Jan 7th 2007 9:33PM
I feel like I'm entering the future!
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 6:39PM
My predictions:
- a larger HDD as a addon and starting soon the larger drive will be bundled
- HDMI capable box will be announced, no big deal will be made about it and it will be available later this year with some kind of trade-in program for existing customers
- a new exclusive (existing franchise on another system) will be announced, it will shock and awe
- the XBLA version fo Worms will be announced and will be available right away
- no price cut will be announced
Did I miss anything?
kris @ Jan 9th 2007 12:55PM
I've gotta agree with everything bklynkid said, they all seem possible, i especially like the trade in program that would deffinatly take the sting of of the tail for us being left with a bitter taste over the hdmi in our v1 (old skool) box's.
However i think its such a small hardcore minority that will be unhappy they may well just say 'not our problem', here's hoping anyway.
As for worms im ready for some multiplayer worms HD with you guys if its let loose tonight.
Oh yeah, we'll get news of the new gears content, when and what and possibly but hopefully not 'how much?'
I love big conferences like this, i allways try and stay up, helps that i didnt go to sleep till like 6am (UK time)
Fingers crossed for good news.
Dave @ Jan 7th 2007 7:16PM
There is no way they will be doing a trade in program. Has any other manufacturer ever done that (PS1, PS2, DS Lite, not to mention the numerous iPods). Technology changes quickly, we just have to live with that.
The people who have the first gen 360's (unless there is some adapter still in the works) will have to live without the HDMI, but of course they can get the bigger drive as an add on.
mike @ Jan 7th 2007 7:31PM
why do early adopters always get screwed over?
Virtua Fanboy @ Jan 7th 2007 11:10PM
I don't see this HDMI Xbox coming to light. The hard drive thing maybe, even though I think it's crap, they should just allow external hd for movies. Anyway if I'm wrong, oh well.
masturfader @ Jan 8th 2007 12:56AM
halo 3 realease date would be awesome!
Nitin @ Jan 7th 2007 9:42PM
is the stream working for anyone?
Donald Dean @ Jan 7th 2007 9:44PM
I'm on the CES webcast thing but nothing has shown up yet except music, am I doing something wrong?
paonia @ Jan 8th 2007 12:42AM
stream isn't working for me
paonia @ Jan 7th 2007 9:47PM
no stream here yet. . . waiting 6;45
JoeyCrack @ Jan 7th 2007 9:48PM
Nope. Same crap music for about an hour! Go on with the chlorphyll...
Jared @ Jan 9th 2007 2:21AM
why was the kid in the opening movie playing 'Gears' on a 4:3 sdtv?
Donald Dean @ Jan 7th 2007 10:14PM
I want vista, that is da bomb diggity!
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 10:18PM
Vista is pretty dull without good hardware, specifically for the graphic effects. I'm gonna have to wait till I upgrade my laptop.
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 10:22PM
Uuuh, why block it out when we will all read about it on Engadget anyway?
Brian @ Jan 7th 2007 10:25PM
This is ridiculous. Get to the good stuff bill!
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 10:28PM
Looks like we missed a "HP-style commercial playing, but it's Bill instead of Jay-Z or Mark Cuban."
Insomnious @ Jan 8th 2007 3:13PM
Seriously, why are 'early adopters' making such a big deal out of the version 2 360 with HDMI? I've seen thousands of tests done between component and HDMI and the results are 50/50. HDMI doesn't suddenly create this whole new dimension of HD-goodness.
I've got this image of hardcore fanboys looking on in shame at their obsolete models, simply because it isn't up-to-date.
And a larger hard-drive is only really useful for those who intend to download movies from the Marketplace. Even after all your complaining, just remember that certain LARGE regions of MILLIONS of gamers don't even have that option yet.
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 10:33PM
So... Geometry Wars is coming to Windows?
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 10:39PM
Oh they could at least give us fresh Halo 3 material...
Dr Woopass @ Jan 7th 2007 10:39PM
Hurricane friend request in 5...4...3...
GeneralGrey @ Jan 8th 2007 12:35PM
Did anyone else notice that he said Halo 2 was Live anywhere along with Shadowrun and Uno? I thought Bungie said multiplayer was going to be completely seperate.
Eric B @ Jan 7th 2007 10:47PM
IPTV was announced for X360 just now... can't wait until it goes live.
richwarn @ Jan 7th 2007 11:04PM
i guess they aren't going to talk about the 120g hard drive or hdmi...for the 360
BklynKid @ Jan 7th 2007 11:09PM
*yawn*
There go all my predictions.
Donald Dean @ Jan 7th 2007 11:07PM
Where was all the great news that was supposed to be announced? iptv? That's it? That's all we got. I can't believe I watched this for nothing.
Kid Pyrrhic @ Jan 7th 2007 11:09PM
So all the speculation comes to end.
Joe @ Jan 8th 2007 2:00PM
The Bill Gates Keynote was dull. The Apple Keynote by Steve Jobs this Tuesday will own Bill Gates.

Here's the new tune from gamers at CES: Guns are out and Guitars are in. Will Xbox live be used to dowload interactive songs for the next era of simulation games?
Look at the surprising success of the new Guitar Hero II game on the old PS2 platform. This looks like a disruptive new technology because it extends the life of old songs and creates new demand in a new game category.
