What's inside the Half-Life 2 box

Soon, Half-Life 2: Episode 2 will be making its way onto the Xbox 360 and will be bundled with a bunch of other goodies. And those guys over at Valve found an easy way to identify the new compilations ... by color.
The Xbox 360 (PC and PS3) will be getting what is known as the Half-Life 2: Orange bundle. Included is the original Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episodes 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal. The orange package will set you back a reasonable $59.99. For our PC brethren they have one other option called Half-Life 2: Black. This bundle will include Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal and will cost $39.99. The Black bundle is for those PC gamers that already purchased Half-Life 2 and Episode 1. Phew ... there you have it. But is anyone a little turned off by the whole color coding system?

HeistTheWorld @ Jan 19th 2007 10:42PM
Whoa, we get all that for $60?
Jeez that's amazing. I was expecting and accepting them to raise the price a bit for such an amazing package.
That's how many hours of greatness there, both online and off?
Azerael @ Jan 17th 2007 3:45AM
It makes more sense now we know about "black".
Naming it orange out of the blue seemed a bit odd, at the least.
Shaggydelic2007 @ Jan 17th 2007 4:16AM
Even if you already have HALF Life 2 and Episode 1 on PC doesnt make sense to not have it also on Xbox360 for some achievements.
fsjk85 @ Jan 17th 2007 6:19AM
I remember HL2:Black being announced in a trailer shown on MTV
Dukrous @ Jan 17th 2007 5:33AM
The box colors make perfect sense...orange and black have been the logo's colors since the original hit in 1998.
Type105x @ Jan 17th 2007 6:27AM
lol yey a game like this should have 2000 achievement POINTS!!! ^__^
I think this game will last me till XMAS and halo 3
MaXKiLLz @ Jan 17th 2007 6:53AM
What about Counter-Strike? That can't be to far behind.
drunkenshaolin @ Jan 17th 2007 8:24AM

Forceusr @ Jan 17th 2007 8:43AM
$59.99 is a great value for all that's included in the Orange bundle. Have been intrigued by the trailers of Portal. Looks interesting.
Way to go, Valve!
incrediblebulk92 @ Jan 17th 2007 9:01AM
Um so are these all multiple games or all one 1 disc? i mean the way they talk about them al seems like theyll only have 1 set of achievements which could suck... i like achievements
Bennyishere @ Jan 17th 2007 11:04AM
I think it's hawt :D
Cripple87 @ Jan 17th 2007 9:41AM
CS will probably be a download at the Market, i'm shure it will be alot, 800-1600MP
Xyzzy @ Jan 17th 2007 2:42PM
Anyone else think $39.99 for episode two is a rip-off? I doubt I'll be paying that much for the PC. Oh well.
8dot3 @ Jan 17th 2007 10:38AM
Man, $39.99 for PC Episode 2 is a lot of money. The promise they made with episodic content was that they would release shorter games, faster and cheaper than full length games. I just want Episode 2, not Portal and TF2!
dstg_ll @ Jan 17th 2007 10:49AM
Ah, finally HL2 hitting the 360. I have it on PC, but i ditched the gaming out of my PC in favor of console gaming, so that's good news.
Platinum @ Jan 17th 2007 11:13AM
4 games for the price of one...
You can't beat that no matter what way you put it....
BklynKid @ Jan 17th 2007 11:20AM
That's a great value. I'm picking this up for sure.
Rane @ Jan 17th 2007 10:00PM
Seems like we could have told the difference in the products by the fact that one says Xbox 360 on top and is with the other Xbox 360 games and the PC game is in a box that says PC. Is anyone actually going to buy the Black version and try to play it in their 360?
Liqwid @ Jan 17th 2007 11:37AM
Half-Life 2 Deathmatch better be included this time around.
Jon @ Jan 17th 2007 11:48AM
How soon is soon? :run:
harma41 @ Jan 17th 2007 11:58AM
When is this supposed to ship, now that it was delayed past its initial january 07 release?
tcc3 @ Jan 17th 2007 1:05PM
If you just want Ep 2, buy it from Steam. No ones forcing the bundle on you. The bundle just gives you a price break on multiple titles.
dan s. @ Jan 17th 2007 6:29PM
Is there a release date for this?
Ben @ Jan 17th 2007 5:45PM
Xyzzy
Dude you get three games in the bundle. You can still download them individually off steam.
