Halo 3 beta invites are already being sent

Yesterday, we reported that Microsoft was sending out Halo 3 beta invites sometime this week. Later on, a mass email was sent out by the Xbox team stating that within the next two days they would be emailing invites to the lucky winners of phase one. We're now getting confirmation from our readers that the beta invites are already being sent out.

Over at the Hushed Casket forums rapture posted a screenshot of the email he received confirming that he was in on the Halo 3 beta. We also got word from Gabe that he too got an invite and was one of those early entrants who slipped past the official launch of Halo3.com. And for everyone who received the mass email from Microsoft telling you to watch your inbox for an invite, don't fret, you aren't a loser just yet. We confirmed with rapture that he too received that mass email, but also received a separate beta invite email. Good luck guys! The mass email was sent before the actual beta invite was confirmed. So far, myself and everyone I've heard from received the mass email first.

My brother just got one. Unfortunately, his Xbox was one that got the ring of death, and it's covered by that generous warranty renewal. For anybody who sent one in, what's the turnaround time? I told my brother it was 2 months after reading that somewhere, but it seems like way too long when all Microsoft does is get your 360 in the mail and "repair" it by simply replacing it with a refurbished system...which sure as hell wouldn't take 2 months, right?

@4, I've had my console "repaired" four times, average turnaround has been about a week in all cases. Hope that softens the blow a little. :)

I got a HALO 3 INVITE!!!! WOOHOOO!!!! Just came in today. I can't wait till I get to play!!! YAY!!! I wonder how much I could sell it for on ebay ;-)

I've known since Sunday I was in. The UK had a different sign up (prize draw comptetitions) and I won one on Sunday, and got the confirmation the same day :D

On a side note, I wonder how many copies of Crackdown (sans Halo 3 invite) will be on eBay the week following its release. I know I have considered buying a copy only to sell it right on eBay to ensure a beta invite (yes sad, but I see only losing $10 or so doing it)

I got in as well. I am wondering what the connection between this beta and other MS betas might be. It seems like every beta I apply for I get into these days. I am wondering if previous MS beta testers are getting preferance. Anyone else that got accepted test any other products?

1. Purchase Crackdown at WalMart w/ cash.
2. Redeem code for Halo 3 Beta.
3. ?????
4. Return Crackdown.

I'm in, and as I said in the other post, I'm looking for some Halo 3 friends (man that just sounds so good) So send me an invite so we can play together in the beta or something.

For those of you who are thinking of selling your copy of crackdown need to read the fine print....

"When the Halo 3 multiplayer beta surfaces in spring 2007, those owners of Crackdown that have access to an Xbox 360 Pro console or an Xbox 360 Core console with hard drive and a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription simply need to load their copy of Crackdown into Xbox 360 and use the disc as a key to download the beta from Xbox Live Marketplace and join the battle in Halo 3 multiplayer."

So to get in you'll need the Crackdown disk!!!!!

I'm kinda sick of this whole thing. I was trying to register the moment it opened and the site crashed or whatever it did. The next day I get in and register and still I've received no email. I've spent way to much money on this whole Halo thing already. The games, books, hell I even bought the damn soundtrack. I stood in line at midnight for H2 and Ive had enough. What sickens me the most is this whole buy a crappy game (crackdown) and get to help us test our game. Keep your Beta test and I really doubt I'll spending any more time or money on any of your properties. Ah damn it, ok maybe H3 , but then thats it. Maybe
