Unreal Tournament 2007 for 360, new name

Speculated but never officially confirmed, Midway has finally announced that Unreal Tournament 2007 is bound for the Xbox 360, albeit with a new name. Entitled Unreal Tournament III, the game is expected to hit the 360 in the second half of 2007. UT3 (obviously) runs on the Unreal Engine 3 and should delight deathmatch junkies world wide. The game will feature the traditional deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. A third mode, entitled Warfare, will be available as well (perhaps it will function something like Warzone on GOW?). The game looks to feature an expansive campaign mode, too. Seriously, we like other consoles. We do. We just can't afford anything else with so many outstanding titles hitting the 360 this year.

does anyone kknow if this game will be like the one from the xbox? By that I mean will it have computer AI players in multiplayer.

UT and UC are 2 distinctly different games. If it's not called UC3, it's NOT UC3.

I think everyone knew this was coming, it'd be really bad if a developer like epic chose to make a great game like this exclusive to the crappy PS3.

There a 2 games I will NEVER play without a mouse and keyboard, Unreal Tournament is one, and Counter-Strike is the other. These are twitch shooters and would be no fun without my M&K.

Hmmm... the wording of the ign article indicates that the game got renamed to Unreal Tournament 3 on all platforms (guess Unreal Tournament 2007 was too complicated to pronounce), so no, this isn't Unreal Championship 3... PS3 suckers who believed Krazy Ken and thought ut2k7 wasn't coming to 360 because it was inferior make me laugh! :-D Cheers!

Ahh yeah bi'aches!!! That just sealed the deal. Now there is NO reason what so ever to even consider a Gaystation 3!! 360 rulez this generation!! The best thing is, this game will look just as every bit as beautiful as GEARS OF WAR.

1) Warfare is nothing like Warzone, it's a vehicular based area to area domination gametype like onslaught was/is but bigger, more persistant.
2) The removal of the year, and the 'redo' of the original UT intro hark back to the franchise's beginnings, much like how the gameplay will go
3) It could also get delayed to 2008 ;)
4) could end up stunning..

Nice trailer. Not surprised at all to hear an "official" announcement that UT2007 is coming out on the 360. I think the reason why the name has been changed is that Epic can't guarantee a 2007 release date. It just might not make it until 2008.
