$2 Xbox 360 games today at Best Buy
Today, and today only, Best Buy stores in the United States are running a video game clearance to get rid of some old video game stock. According to a post on IGN's forums, select games from numerous consoles including the Xbox 360 are clearance priced and ripe for the picking. We noticed that Full Auto, King Kong, and Ridge Racer 6 are all listed for the rock bottom price of $1.99! Of course, the games are pretty crappy, but you can get some easy achievements or sell them on eBay. Other Xbox 360 titles are clearance priced at either $4.99 or $9.99 including Oblivion CE which is only $9.99. But be sure to note that this is a clearance and the available games will vary dramatically from store to store. And for your convenience, the full list of Xbox 360 clearance games and their prices are listed after the break.[Via Digg]

Again Canadians get gyped. :(
Jack the Ripper @ Feb 26th 2007 2:25AM
The only games I'm interested in will probably be games that I already own. That sucks so hard when I think of the hundreds of bucks I could've saved if I'd just held off on buying games like friggin' Quake IV and Condemned. I'm sooo glad that I only rent now. Thank you, God, for Gamefly.
Adam - Hear me roar @ Feb 26th 2007 3:04AM
I'm definitely going to try to get Oblivion and MotoGP 06. I had them both at one time and traded them in to get other games. I wouldn't mind seeing if my local store had King Kong either. I have yet to play through it for the 1000 points.
Stefan Hansson @ Feb 26th 2007 7:18AM
Ridge racer 6 is not some easy achivements....:)
samaral70 @ Feb 26th 2007 7:32AM
I take it this is in store only? sucks cuz i had to stay home from work today because of the amount of snow we got.
Hoffer @ Feb 26th 2007 7:48AM
@4
I agree!! I just got this game a week ago for $13 off someone on eBay. I played the game for 2 hours, winning quite a few races and didn't get one achievement.
Nitin @ Feb 26th 2007 7:57AM
if anyone is able to get oblivion for 10 bucks, please respond. i just ordered oblivion online for store pickup and hopefully they will only charge me 10 bucks when i go to pick up later today
mike @ Feb 26th 2007 9:23AM
these deals have been posted on all sorts of forums and deal sites. The only way you guys will be getting one of those games (especially the $2 games), is if our at the door when the store opens. Considering that was 30 minutes ago, I would say your already to late (unless your central or pacific)
flames89 @ Feb 26th 2007 10:29AM
Best Buy stores opan at 10.
Went to mine in NJ at opening and they had none of em. Bummer.
Tza88 @ Feb 26th 2007 10:30AM
Well I just went to my local Best Buy and they had some of the games on the list, mainly Oblivion. They said it wasnt on their list. So i call BS on this!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the rumor
wproc @ Feb 26th 2007 10:31AM
Nashua, NH did not have any of the games on that list with clearance prices. I checked a few including oblivion and halo 2 but they were scanning at regular prices.
rastyk @ Feb 26th 2007 10:38AM
Lies! Harrisburg, PA did not have anything on sale. They had these titles, full price only.
Tony @ Feb 26th 2007 11:06AM
As with a lot of these types of sales, most stores are probably going to reflect the full price for a while. It's probably just going to get randomly updated in the computer out of nowhere.
Blaine Train @ Feb 26th 2007 11:18AM
i went to the best buy in pembroke pines, florida and it was a bust. i was there right when they opended the doors almost 20 minutes late. They had NO games on the list, but i asked on of the employees to tell me the price of pokemon sapphire for gba and the computer said 1.99. So the clearance was true. But the store opened 20 minutes after 10 am. So im thinking it was a conspiracy. The store opened 20 minutes late with every employee inside. Gets me thinking.
hoos30 @ Feb 26th 2007 11:37AM
My local Best Buy also did not have any clearance sale games, but it WAS curiously full of employees, which is usually not the case. I think it was an inside job!
MaXKiLLz @ Feb 26th 2007 11:40AM
Thanks for the post about Pembroke Pines. I was just about to head over there. What a waste of time that would have been.
jsn @ Feb 26th 2007 12:03PM
you're not going to find many BB's that have ANY of these games. I spoke with a guy at my local BB today and he checked every store in the area and none of them have any of them. Basically, these are games that best buy doesn't stock anymore and hasn't for a while. They're considered "out of print", so if you get lucky and the store happens to have a copy, you can get it for that price, but most stores will have sold out of them a long time ago.
Boris Shubinsky @ Feb 26th 2007 12:10PM
There's nothing at the Best Buy in Northeast Philadelphia (Roosevelt Boulevard, Rt. 1). I was there at open and the guy didn't even know what I was talking about.
biggdogg40509 @ Feb 26th 2007 12:14PM
this is FALSE, at least here in the Lexington KY BestBuy.
i was there at open, and all titles were normal priced. 29.99-59.99
ron @ Feb 26th 2007 12:29PM
i just got back from best buy and they said it was a lie.so dont waste your time everyone
rae @ Feb 26th 2007 12:30PM
I will help clear this up. I went to my local BB and had the clerk (who was not aware) check the system. All the information reported is accurate. The issue is that all the stores in the MA/RI district discontinued these titles long ago and have none (very rare exception on the titles I spot checked). The stores have Oblivion, but the special price only applies to the CE. Must be why it was not advertised in this area - there is no stock.
matthew @ Feb 26th 2007 12:31PM
Lame, there were none of these games in the store :(
Oh well, thanks for the heads up anyway. I ended up buying Crackdown so it looks like their evil plan worked if this was really a marketing scheme ;)
grant @ Feb 26th 2007 12:32PM
I went to Best Buy. They did not have a single title that I wanted to purchase. I wanted NBA 2K6, Oblivion, and Quake 4... they had none of these games in stock. They had over 50 oblivions but none were collectors editions. The Best Buy employee said that he only found out about the clearence when he came in that morning. This is not False as #19 states. He has bad information. The sale is real finding the games is the trick. This is just a lame attempt of best buy to get people through the door. It worked on me. I bought a ipod.
Benny @ Feb 26th 2007 12:45PM
My brother works at Best Buy so I called him to check the 360 games and he said the only game that they received was Final Fantasy XI for the sale.
Anthony D @ Feb 26th 2007 12:58PM
Urban Legend kids, no such deals at BB on these games......you've been duped!!!
Rami Selim @ Feb 26th 2007 2:02PM
I went to look for Full Auto and Oblvion:CE, but the Best Buy in Dedham, MA had none of those games even available. I would say, don't bother trying. It seems that these are all games they don't carry anymore.
JohnHeist @ Feb 26th 2007 2:17PM
"According to a post on IGN's forums"...
soo...
Check it out guys! Best Buy is selling Gears of War for $30, has Alien Hominid HD in disc form, which also comes with Worms!
It was probably just that dumb kids store, and they're probably not CLEARANCE, but USED games, since Best Buy is toying around with selling used stuff now.
I would have liked to get Oblivion for $10 and Kong for $2 though.
polar @ Feb 26th 2007 2:35PM
Well... I missed out on all the games.
But I did get three wii systems. So all in all a good outing.
Benjamin09 @ Feb 26th 2007 3:27PM
This was real. I went to 2 different best buys, one had all the clearance games with the other games. They had PSP, DS and several other games for 1.99 along with the 360 (Most were sold out already for all systems)and the other store had pulled them all from the shelves and put them in one location.
They did have full auto but I missed out on that for my brother.
I did find out one guy bought them all right before me.
SRU Phil @ Feb 26th 2007 3:49PM
@ 18
I was just at the same BB and the guy also had no idea what I was talking about.
h0mi @ Feb 26th 2007 3:55PM
Would've been nice to pick up quake 4.
H880 @ Feb 26th 2007 4:14PM
My local Best Buy did have two of the games, which I picked up for the prices above, so the deal is valid. Btw, I'm in Northern California.
I found NHL 2K6 and Tony Hawk American Wasteland.
All the other games were out of stock.
Also, NHL was labeled as selling for full price at the 360 section, and it wasn't until I double checked that I was able to confirm the markdown to $4.99
biggdogg40509 @ Feb 26th 2007 4:37PM
Grant, if that was to me i apollogize and stand corrected.
it didn't work on me in the manner they had hoped then, as i walked right back out as empty handed as when i came in. I went in with an agenda and without my BB card, so i was planning to only get these titles had they indeed been there at these prices.
Johnny @ Feb 26th 2007 4:41PM
Just got back.
They only had one game on the list.
Hockey.
The clerk told me thats all they had.
so I as I was leaving guess who I saw at the check out with a stack of games that wernt even on the shelf?
dubbalubagis @ Feb 26th 2007 4:51PM
This article is true. I stopped by my local Best Buy this morning and none of the games were left but supposedly they had a line outside and only the early birds got the deals.
jules c @ Feb 26th 2007 5:10PM
none in dedham massachusetts, the girl in the store had no idea what i was talking about! Must have been in certian stores, oh well i'll just go back to playing crackdown!!! muraahahhhhhh
rusty_pecker @ Feb 26th 2007 6:09PM
at arrived at my Lansing Illinois best buy at 11 am the only xbox title they had for 2 bucks was two copies of NHL 2k5 i bought 1 copy i figured i could trade it in for more than 2 bucks
yokken @ Feb 26th 2007 6:24PM
No dice in Minnesota. They had no games for 360 on sale whatsoever, let alone any other console. They had Batwoman. Whoopee.
Pseudo @ Feb 26th 2007 7:49PM

pipe @ Feb 26th 2007 9:02PM
Damn! i work a block away from one BB and live by another. if i would of logged on before i left this morning i could of checked both stores. oh well, i'll get over it.
Andro @ Feb 26th 2007 9:02PM
I found 360 Moto GP '06 in FL for $9.99, these deals are legit if you can find them. Good luck all.
kornchild2002 @ Feb 27th 2007 4:16PM
I checked my local Best Buy, none of the games scanned in at these low prices. I mainly wanted Oblivion, King Kong (if anything, for the gamerscore points), and Moto GP 2006. Oblivion was ringing up for $60, Moto GP 2006 rang up for $50, and King Kong rang up for $30.
Although one of those games are really good, I just can't see justifying spending full price on a old game.
Oh well, I guess this rumor was just that, a rumor. Maybe the sale will happen next week.
Andro @ Feb 27th 2007 8:31PM
Went back again to my local BB in FL & picked up College Hoops 2K6 for $4.99 - Yesterday I found Moto Gp '06 for $9.99 both for the 360. Not sure why some BB's are not offering them up, but the deals are true. Good luck.
ant @ Feb 28th 2007 12:06PM
Dadeland Best Buy in Miami was a bust!
