Halo 2 Theme on Guitar Hero II? Schweet

OXM's exclusive article and review combo of Guitar Hero II in their March issue had an interesting tidbit on an exclusive song. Apprarently, the Xbox 360 version will get a little spartan nostalgia as they get to rock out to the Mjolnir Mix of the Halo 2 theme. In terms of the song itself, it sounds like a lot of fun, as the guitar is very distinctive. Honestly, who wouldn't want to play the Halo 2 theme? Still, when we read the magazine's article prior to coming across this news, we didn't see any mention of the song, but perhaps we overlooked it in a sidebar or something. So, until we double check our issue of OXM, or a Fanboy reader confirms it, we're going to classify this as a rumor. No word if it is going to be available on the disc off the bat or through a download off of Xbox Live Marketplace. We're going to look into this as soon as we can. Let's say this is true, how do you feel about the Halo's theme showing up in other games?

I think it's probably the "Rock Anthem For Saving the World" on the Halo soundtrack.

I'd rather have other exclusive songs than Halo stuff on there, but..whatever. I could even see rocking out to Gears tunes easier than Halo stuff, but if it works, it works I guess!
Truth be told I hope Halo stuff or other gamimg music dosen't take away from some classic rock!

I don't understand how, as I ordered it about April of last year and there's no way I've gotten my 12 issues worth yet. But I should probably have them bill me pretty soon.

I just re-read the article in OXM, and I didn't see anything about the Halo 2 theme (or any Halo music, for that matter) being on Guitar Hero II.

I found where this little rumor-tidbit came from!
It's in the Rumor Mole section on page 88.
Check it out, there's just a passing mention of it, here's the actual statement:
"Who wouldn't want to play Steve Vai's electric-guitar version of the Halo MJOLNIR Theme on Guitar Hero II? Well, thanks to Marketplace, you might get your chance..."
That's it, and that's the source of this rumor. So neither true confirmation nor denial.

It's fine with me. Nintendo manages to do it with Mario and his cast of characters without diluting the brand, so as long as MS keeps it tasteful, the more the merrier.
