Shipping this week: get on the floor edition

With the excitement surrounding Guitar Hero II, we'd nearly forgotten that the 360's first iteration of Dance Dance Revolution was shipping this week. 360 owners will finally be able to get on the dance floor with DDR: Universe. We actually have a fairly hefty list of games this week. Behold:
North America
- Bullet Witch
- Dance Dance Revolution Universe
- Major League Baseball 2K7
- Samurai Warriors 2 Empires

I'm getting Bullet Witch eventually. May wait for a price drop.
I want DDR but seeing the mass of song keys that they posted as DLC turns my stomach.
Mikeawesome @ Feb 27th 2007 2:52PM
Hm!
I'm considering DDR when I get my paycheck this week.
Though, I was sick the week I'm getting paid for, so I might not be getting a huge check. ;-;

Ten new songs out of nowhere is kind of a bit much and I admit it does bother me.
At the same time, it's almost amazing to me that on Major Nelson's site people are complaining that a $1.25 song isn't a "micro" transaction. A dollar twenty-five. You don't have to buy one or all of these if you don't want to. People aren't happy unless these things cost 50 cents.
I don't know, I bought some software for my computer the other day and on that same disc were other programs I couldn't actually use unless I bought a key specifically for them. It's funny to me that people think this is that uncommon, unexpected or, really, unfair.

Will i be able to use my Red octane dance pad with this game?
Scott @ Feb 27th 2007 4:01PM
I'm still waiting to hear on whether or not the new dance pads are wireless.
I want to get this game so I can migrate the original Xbox up to the kids playroom. DDR is the only thing keeping it in the TV room.

I'll be picking up MLB this week, most likely. DDR appeals to me, as well, but tax time is limiting what I can spend on games right now. Maybe I'll pick it up later.
I'm excited they're selling extra songs, but I'd be curious to know how many songs are in this version of the game compared to last-gen console versions. If they're shipping the game with fewer songs than they used to, then selling songs over Xbox Live Marketplace, that's lame. But if they're still putting the same number of songs on the game, I don't have as much of a problem with it.

Just Bullet Witch and Samurai Warriors 2 Empires here.
KilgoreTrout XL @ Feb 27th 2007 5:16PM
MLB 2K7, most likely.
I should really get gamefly. I want to try all of these games out.
aragorn @ Feb 27th 2007 5:23PM
so basically, for an extra $7.95, you get the complete version of DDR...
you know, I don't mind downloadable content... but when you're pitching it before even the freaking release of the game, that's just shameful.
F* you konami.
Kid Pyrrhic @ Feb 27th 2007 5:41PM
This isn't anything new for Konami though. The previous versions of DDR all had pay to play licensed songs.
If I'm not mistaken, they were all just unlock keys as well.
There's plenty enough content in the game to satisfy the casual fan (I owned the first two DDR Ultramix games and never once purchased additional content). The extra songs are just for the really dedicated, "I dance at my local arcade" fanbase.
I mean, can the casual gamer really get bored with the 65 included tracks?
James @ Feb 27th 2007 6:15PM
"I mean, can the casual gamer really get bored with the 65 included tracks?"
Yes.
65 tracks may be included, but there's usually only 10-15 tracks worth listening to repeatedly.
MisterSquared @ Feb 27th 2007 7:57PM
@11 you mean like MONKEY PUNK?!?! lol
Eric @ Feb 28th 2007 9:42AM
Nope. I just bought VF5 and am probably going to buy Marvel Trading card game for the PSP today as well, so that's more than enough for this week. Besides, I'm playing through Oblivion again to get ready for SI. Too bad bullet witch sucks. I've wanted it since I first saw a trailer from japan, but the review is just too bad to buy it. I will for sure eventually get SW2:E, but not this week.
Zil @ Feb 28th 2007 10:04AM
does the DDR game 'bundle' include the dancing pad as well?
