Worms HD wiggles onto Arcade
Fanboys, the day has finally arrived and Worms has hit Xbox Live Arcade for 800 MS Points. Complete with Xbox Live multiplayer for one to four players, this looks to become an instant classic. The 12 available Achievements don't look too shabby either, with our favorites being "Greedy Worm" and "Shepherd". Also, now that the game in question is released, the celebrity deathmatch between the 360Arcadians and the X3F team can finally be scheduled. So, the real question everyone wants to know is when is Castlevania coming out?

I'd much rather TMNT and Catan, than Castlevania at this point.. though I plan to pick up all 3 anyway.
Does anyone know if you can play 2 player from same console against others on live?

Intelligent response: MS will wait for retailers to stock the larger 512 MB memory units before CastleVania SOTN hits, since we know it was a reason these units were created to begin with. Furthermore this is a large XBLA gem: I'd doubt they'd release it so close to another high profile title like Worms. Because of the recent release of Alien Hominid, the less known title from Behemoth, Castle Crashers, might be the one. I'd say that'd be my prediction for Wednesday the 14th (if we get anything.)
Unintelligent response: I hope for once it DOESN'T happen too soon: I'm waiting for Microsoft to send me my 360 coffin still! Just my luck: we could be on the eve of my favorite game releasing in HD and me without a working system to download it on. Thanks a lot, Crackdown!! (or whatever it was Saturday.)

Castlevania seems like it'll be a while off yet...maybe mid-Spring if we're lucky. TMNT I would expect on the 21st this month to tie in with the movie release.

ZenGaijin I haven't ever played Worms either, but it looks pretty! I'll download the demo, but if the Turtles Arcade game comes out next week, i'd probably be more likely to purchase it instead.

It's just like the recent 2d worms games that came out in the past few years, except over powered weapons are all gone, it is more balanced, HD, and xbox live community makes this the best worms I have played. And doesn't have slow down issues like the dreamcast version. I like it a lot

My younger brother got me into worms - and I downloaded it first thing this morning.
In my opinion, this game seems to be very buggy. My 360 has frozen up 4 times already trying to join games and create matches. Has anyone else experienced this?

u guys know you HAVE to get that whole match on film (well...now its not film anymore...but some sort of digital media) along with all the commentary (FROM BOTH TEAMS!) that comes naturally.

Played Womr a little bit this morning and I think it's worth $10. I'll even be willing to drop some money on DLC to get super weapons and new terrain if they release it.

I played the hell out of it this morning before work and I'm feening for more right now. I hadn't played Worms in years, but it's good to have the game back and in glorious HD.
It plays just like I remember it, and the weapon selection is great even with some omissions from previous versions.
beardsly43 - I haven't actually tried 2 players on one 360 over Live yet, but with the turn-based nature of the game, I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Played this morning. It's GREAT with coffee and a bagel!
Best thing about this game is that it's simple enough to pick up and go, but there's all sorts of neat little tricks to learn that will make one bad ass army of worms.
It's not a 'kill 5-10 minutes' type of game though, each match I played was atleast 20min maybe more.
Unless there's a way to limit the amount of worms you start with? I didn't check.
Best XBLA value since Small Arms.

What is the offline multiplayer like on this? I dont have internet acess here in my crappy dorms, but i can take my 360 somewhere with internet for downloading this kind of stuff if i want to. Is it worth getting if you cant play online?

I just got done playing worms and while I had fun, It's really lousy compared to worms world party. The explosions have little to no splash damage, you need to be right on top of thing to take damage. The lack of weapons is really bad, no bat, no low gravity, no holy hand grenade, no flying sheep, no aqua sheep. You can't set the amount of props per stage, there is only 3 stage backgrounds. The ninja rope is seriously nerfed. Online it wouldn't load other players names just worm 1, worm 2 , etc (this only happened a few times). I asked if they had vulgar names and they said no. It's nice to have a worms version on the 360 and the online is fun, but if you're a worms fan you will be seriously let down.

Was thinking of buying this right away. I downloaded it, played a game with my bro on the trial... then I bought it. Made me remember how fun this game was and is.

ummm.. dude.. I'm a worms fan and not let down. Less unbalanced weapons is a good thing. Sorry you don't get your over powered weapons. It may be fun sometimes, but for more strategic and better balanced ranked games, this is perfect. May be why I win most the time, since people don't have their gimmicks. It's less likely to be very random without these pointless, weapons.

Looking forward to our grudge match guys. Sadly my 360 broke over the weekend and i sent it out via a coffin today. Hopefully I'll have it back next week so we can finally settle who is the ultimate Worms Champions.
