Rainbow Six Vegas gets the patch treatment
If you've played Rainbow Six Vegas since Tuesday, you'll know that there was a patch you had to download earlier in the week. And this isn't a boring little patch, oh no. This is a gameplay changing, bug fixing, behemoth of a patch. Ubi_Rickas originally posted the full details of the patch on the official forums, outlining what Ubisoft fixed. Among the biggest changes made was making the weapons a little more balanced (per community feedback), quicker loading for customized faces, host can no longer kick a player during the game, and many other tweaks. A full list of changes are listed after the jump. Are there any Rainbow Six Vegas fans who've been playing with the patch applied, and if so, what are your impressions of the new tweaks?[Thanks, smak]

The patch is awesome, we had a blast auditing the guns last night and realigning our strategies for the maps. May this be the death of the MP9 snipers. Thank you UbiSoft for the great game and responding to your loyal RB6 community request and complaints

I played it for a few hours on Tuesday night, but I had no idea it was actually a useful patch. I'm glad to hear it though. Some changes really needed to be made to the online. Now maybe I'll actually play it a bit! WOOH!

I'm fine with bug fixes, but changing a core game play element, like weapon accuracy, is just wrong.

DAMMIT!! why does my system have to be dead, the patches I've wanted for soo long while I slaved Many hours into that game...finally released, and my box is in the shop
and now I can't try out the guns, see what they fixed.
see how many people Are useless without an mp9 that can kill u from a roof top away.
and with this Sniper upgrade I'm gonna be more deadlier then ever.
god how many games did I get kicked out of cause of some asshole, not likeing the fact I can shoot him better then he can shoot I.
what a shitty time not to have my system.

I haven't noticed anything different..I still suck at this just as much as I used to online.
Tim @ Mar 8th 2007 1:24PM
I still catch the occasional looping weapon. You dont know how aggravating that is. I swear this company is made up of idiots. They couldn't fix that? Really?
TheHostileDwarf @ Mar 8th 2007 3:00PM
Unless I'm missing it, I can't believe they didn't fix the Realistic Achievement bug. Lame.
Daryl @ Mar 8th 2007 4:55PM
What realistic achievement bug?
I like that the host can't boot players in the game anymore. I was booted once because I was so bad. Hey, it was my first time at retrival. Cut me some slack.
Nightv1zion @ Mar 8th 2007 5:07PM
Awesome, I had no idea it changed so much. I'm very glad to hear that the host can't kick people during the game. Just last week I was kicked because I had the package and the host was on the other team.
Jon @ Mar 8th 2007 6:08PM
They should have done this before GRAW 2 came out, just as they should have released the Downloadable content beforehand. This game is going to lose a lot of players to GRAW
TheHostileDwarf @ Mar 8th 2007 6:15PM
Well, it's not really a realistic achievement bug so much as it is a bug that causes your gamesave to revert to Normal difficulty level when you reload the last checkpoint when playing on realistic if you've played through the game on normal difficulty first.
Justin @ Mar 8th 2007 6:27PM
So...if you play through the game in realistic FIRST like a real man should...you do not have the problem right?
And I'm only joking...I just have yet to see it. But this is my favorite game of last year and I'm glad to see them constantly making it better.
TheHostileDwarf @ Mar 8th 2007 7:12PM
Perhaps if I had played through on realistic first, the glitch wouldn't screw up my save and I wouldn't suck online. Nah, I'd still suck.

"now about rainbow... i hope they fixed the damn MP7, that gun wa so overpowered and too acurate..."
@nonrandomhero
Actually the MP7 is an SMG sized weapon with the power and accuracy of an assault rifle and can punch through body armor.
Learn that from Future Weapons :0)

whatever they did it wasn't good enough, they sure didn't fix the lock up glitch because it happened to me last night
