Preloaded content revealed for 120GB HDD
Over at TeamXbox they got the dish on what content will be preloaded on the newly announced Xbox 360 120GB HDD. First off, all the preloaded content will be available on both the Xbox 360 Elite hard drive and the seperate retail version. As far as content goes, everything that's preloaded on the 20GB model will be included on the new 120GB drive. We kind of expected this since the new drive is huge ... uber huge. This 120GB behemoth will also come preloaded with a bunch of other content not available on the 20GB drive including demos like Lost Planet, Street Fighter II, and Call of Duty 3. You'll also see more trailers, gamer pictures, and themes, all of which you can delete instantly or savor for the long run. A full list of the 120GB HDD's preloaded content can be found after the break.[Thanks, Derka]

Isn't all the included content going to get wiped out when you use the transfer cable to move your profile from your existing 20GB HD?
What's the point in that?

Good point. I guess You only get to keep that stuff if you dont add anything from a old HD. Microsoft lost alot of cool points with me. People give Sony a lot grief for the PS3 but if you look at all the crap MS makes you buy its crazy. 179 for a HD i can get a 500GB for the same price for my computer. this is a rip off.

no they mean everything on the 20 gb will be erased once you transfer it to the 120 gb.why would it erase the things on the 120 gb.pay more attenion when you read number 1

anyone know if a US HD add-on will be compatible with a UK 360 ?

If you are now a new user and going to transfer all your 20g stuff over then what do you care since you will already have most of this stuff or have tried it and deleted it already. Anything from this list you really do want you will already have, and even if you don't they are just free downloads from the Marketplace.

That memory card isn't looking so silly now... Just move my game saves over, and re-download all my Arcade games. I've never gone to anyone else's house to play them or take them, so having the games locked to my gamertag is not a big deal. If it DOES become a big deal, I'll just call MS and get new points to redownload everything. :-) And, this means I can keep the games on both consoles with deleting everything.
You notice Hexic is missing, the one game that is only available via Hard drive and cannot be downloaded if you delete it?

still a steep price for a 120GB HDD.

" yey the harddrive should work on a uk system ....the old 20gig drives work on all systems :)
Gemini Ace @ Mar 29th 2007 11:36AM
So, out of the 120G, how much do we get to use how we want?
arman @ Mar 29th 2007 11:52AM
Oh and due remember, it's not really 120GB, with formatting it always drops another 5-10% so expect more like 110GB.
ji3000 @ Mar 29th 2007 12:06PM
thks Type105x, i'm over in the States next month so i might try and pick one up if i can (although i fly home on the release day..)

That list is pretty lame.
It wouldn't have hurt them to put at least one extra XBLA title in there to keep Hexic HD some company. Maybe Geometry Wars given that the developer wished the game to be free to begin with.

What I'm hoping for is someone uses the Datel transfer kit and makes an image of the HDD in it's original form.. Then put's it on the internet so then you can buy a REASONABLY priced hard drive instead of being reemed by M$ and then drop that image onto the drive. The only thing holding it back now is that the system only recognizes 20gig, so after the next dashboard update it should work.
spambot @ Mar 29th 2007 2:33PM
Wow! A bunch of stuff I can already download for free AND I get to pay twice as much for a proprietary Hard Drive?
Where do I sign up?!
jwoo22 @ Mar 31st 2007 10:10PM
that preloaded list is a bunch of garbage, as any hardcore 360 player will agree. I definitely want the new system, just because i hate having a lower-end model of anything, the black looks f'ing sexy, but I'm gonna wait until i know im getting the quieter, 65nm model. Also, 120 gigs is awesome, but really its overkill ATM.
