1600 MSFT points free with GH II purchase

Guitar Hero II is coming out tomorrow (even though some of you have your hands on it already) and we feel that our blogging duty requires us to tell you about the best deal out there. Enter Circuit City's gracious offering. This week at Circuit City, when you pick up Guitar Hero II for $89.99 they'll give you a FREE 1600 Microsoft Points card. Yup, that's a $20 value kids. You can then use those points to purchase the recently confirmed Guitar Hero tracks that will be on the XBLM next week or just splurge on random XBLA games or themes. Now, who says corporate retail giants don't care about the consumer's best interest?

I'm debating between this and the $10 BB coupon.

Thanks, glad to know this. I had someone willing to buy my PS2 GH stuff for a bit more than it would cost me to get the 360 version. Hopefully she gets back to me soon!

Thanks, I was going to get it at Best Buy...but now I'm definitely going to get it at Circuit City tomorrow.

To bad I already pre-ordered from Red Octane. Oh well, at least I got a free gig bag :)

DO NOT go to circuit city - they may give "breaks" to the customers but they have left thousands of their employees out in the cold.
Take the 10 dollar best buy coupon.

Just tried to buy it online.... no go. It already says out of stock.

Yea.. I don't think so. I want the 1600pts. Companies pull that crap all the time.. just a way of life, sad to say. Hell look at CompUSA, they're closing over half of their stores nation wide.
qbix @ Apr 2nd 2007 4:57PM
Circuit City sells products on a first come first serve basis, right?
h0mi @ Apr 2nd 2007 5:06PM
#7- go to Best buy and do a pricematch.

PPL on the xbox.com Guitar Hero boards have had spotty success at getting BB to price match the CC deal, some will, and some won't, because it's not actually a lower price, it's a package, and they don't have to honor deals, just prices.
Of course, just because they don't have to, doesn't mean they won't. It's seems to be a store by store basis, call ahead.
PFL @ Apr 2nd 2007 5:52PM
GO to bestbuy with the ad and price match it Duh
Tony @ Apr 2nd 2007 5:51PM
I'm not supporting what happened at Circuit City, but seriously, after working in retail for years and witnessing all sorts of major issues you can find big reasons to not want to shop ANYWHERE. If I'm not supporting this, what makes me want to support Best Buy and their company policies' effects on gays and lesbians? Where does that end?
FR3SH JIV3 @ Apr 2nd 2007 5:59PM
Buy enough stuff, and eventually any store will screw you; one way or another. The way I see it, be a smart consumer and take the best deal that you can.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Apr 2nd 2007 7:09PM
Why would they match the price?? They're both selling it for $89.99.. I wouldn't think the 1600pts would count in that.
adam @ Apr 2nd 2007 7:47PM
I still think 90 bucks is too much. Ill wait till the price drops. If I can wait that long... plus its a bummer that you cant rent the game and controller from anywhere, Id like to play it before I spend that much on a plastic fake guitar controller.
Seriously. 90 bucks can pay two of my monthly utility bills. Damn thats alot for just one game.
Klip @ Apr 2nd 2007 9:42PM
Where can I find the $10 BB coupon?
Chris @ Apr 2nd 2007 10:22PM
i think guitar hero sucks.. LOL anyone???
...jesus.
Paul @ Apr 3rd 2007 10:00AM
11- it ends with the consumer - once we realize that a dollar or two really doesnt make a difference in the sceme of things in our lives, but hourly can make a huge difference in someone elses then you will start paying slightly more to buy from responsible vendors. Big Box stores traditionally are NOT responsible vendors.
