Bungie hints at big announcement this week

This week's Bungie Weekly Update brings us talk of Halo 2, Halo 3, and a hint at some significant news coming this week. On the Halo 2 front, Bungie announced that they will be rolling back all the ranks for all gametypes in preparation for the new maps. They'll also be releasing an update that'll allow their patented Banhammer to further bring the pain, which could make for some rocky matchmaking the first week or so. Be prepared, you were warned. But that's Halo 2, we want Halo 3 news and we want it now! And Frankie didn't disappoint as he discusses the evolution of the fusion core, ambient sounds, and announces that another Halo 3 vid doc will be coming down the pipeline in the near future. Most exciting is Frankie's hint about this week's news saying that there will be "Big changes coming. Big changes and big news. Next week is going to be significant". Big changes and big news eh? We can only speculate to what will be gracing our ears and eyes this week (Halo 3 beta news anyone?), we're eager with anticipation. I don't think it'll be a Beta announcement, what with the new maps coming out soon. They wouldn't release that around the time of the maps, because most of the hardcore H2 players will be in the beta, and that will certainly take precedence over the maps.
I say the big news is a boatload of screens from the two new maps, and possibly the vid-doc release.
Beta won't come out until late May, most likely.

It's either going to be a whole lot of nothing (Probably), or details on some new maps for the Beta (Not as probable). I doubt it'll have anything major about the beta.
Though, they could produce a date that it'll go live. That seems a little more reasonable.

They could just be building up the excitement then just announce that Halo 2 for Vista has gone gold. According to GameStop it is suppose to come out on May 8th, which would put this coming week at about the right time for it to go gold and be out at that time.

A) It wouldn't be about Halo 2 Vista considering Bungie isn't developing it.
B) It's not about the movie, either.
C) The Beta isn't coming this week, but an announcement for mid-May is probable.

They're going to announce that you will be able to get a beta invite if you buy Crackdown 2.
