A look at GoW's Annex, a video preview
Even though we didn't get our Gears of War update today, that doesn't mean we can't learn more about the upcoming Annex gametype. Embedded above is a video preview of what Annex will look like, play like, and what HUD changes will be made. From what we gather the HUD information on the top left seems pretty easy to understand and the hill locations are very obvious (colored rings floating above the ground are eye catching). It looks fast, furious and deadly ... we just want to play it already! After watching the video what do you think? Will Annex be a welcome change to the Gears gameplay or will you be sticking to your old favorite?

i think this will take over as my main game type, that ways no one hides or glitches out of the map when they are the last one alive, i think respawns will work well.

I think this looks like a whole lot of fun. I just hope this doesn't turn into shotgun mele though. Guess you won't really know how it's going to play until everyone has had some time with it. I'm guessing team play is going to be important.

So, warzone type downs. Guess that's good in here since everyone is going to try to kill you because of the respawning enemies instead of leaving you to bleed out while everyone humps you in Warzone.

This is a great game. It is just a remake of the original 1999 UT's Domination game. It was a killer game then and I am so glad Epic brought it back. Can't wait to play it.

Now this is awesome. This should've been in Gears in the first place. Looks like I'll start playing Gears online now, maybe start working on those achievements. :D

also, I think you get bonus points for kills inside the ring... each time someone got a kill inside the ring there was that noise.

Don't worry about glitching. They won't be able to do it, since this patch is getting rid of them as well. Good day, some of them were funny though. So it will be sad to miss the multiple unlimited smoke tag glitch. :( Oh well, all for the better.

They are random respawns and you have some invulnerability, spawn camping shouldn't be a problem.

I started getting into annex today, but am confused and wondering if anyone could help. I am having trouble figuring out the scoring tecniques as far as individual score is concerned (caps?, breaks?), and also was curious as to if these kills count towards achievments (achieving 10,000 seems much easier)? If anyone knows I would appreciate the help. Thanks.
