Epic video: Master Chief vs Samus
There's nothing that gets fanboys in a tizzy quite like fictional battles between our favorite characters. If there is one battle royale that was destined to happen, it must be the Master Chief vs. Samus Aran, Nintendo's famous intergalactic bounty hunter. We're just going to come right out and say it: the video embedded above, created by Monty Oum, is epic. It is fan made cinema on a grand scale. There are a few liberties taken with the Halo canon, but we can live with it for work this good. We're not going to spoil the surprise ending, so you'd best watch it yourself. If anything, this proves one thing: Master Chief belongs in Smash Bros (it proves some other more ... stimulating things as well, but that would be spoiling it).

I am pretty sure that was not master Chief if so then MC is a girl. I think not. So I think it is the Sparten from Dead or Alive. It was made pretty good but did not like the ending. Plus it was cool to finally see a Sparten being able to use a Jackel shield. So I hope that is the third item you can use with the X button.
That being said I think it was good and hope to see other characters face off.

okay that was good right up until masterchief took off HIS armor. he is mastercheif, he never takes it off. and he is not an asian lesbian in spandex. all that work went to waste because of the end. plus, mastercheif is american and wouldn't pull those very anime esque moves. instead he would just walk in and shoot the crap out of everyone. maybe if the last minute was cut out it woulod be half decent

Awesomeness personified!!! Nice to see Spartan 468 (Female spartan from DOA) kicking ass like her bro the chief. Samus was an awesome challenge too.
Great great great props to Monty Oum. These peeps should get a contract and make the Halo movie. Screw those Warner Bros tightwads.

WOW! This was a great video! Who cares if it's not accurate on so many levels? This is truly a work of (cinematic) art! How long did it take to complete? And what program was used for animation and character modeling?
And yes, we all know that Master Chief (John) is a guy, so maybe this is one of the female Spartans from the trilogy? And of course she's a lesbian! (She's in the army!) ;)

That video was horrible, the animation was good and probably took a long time, but the "choreography" was all blatantly ripped off the matrix.
One obligatory matrix reference is enough, but I saw at least 10.
And what the hell was the point in using Samus and a Spartan? If the creator came up with his own IP and didn't steal all his "choreography" from the matrix it would have been good.
Oh yeah, and all fanboy aside, the spartan would have won, Samus isn't biologically augmented like the spartans are.

Jeph, if you read the text you would have known that he made it with master chief to get attention. If it wasn't master chief, the covenant, and samus then you probably would never have seen it in the first place.
The matrix rip off were lame though.
Also, only nerds like action. I'd rather see Master Chief and Samus duke it out in a game of chess.

All these people saying Master Chief isn't a girl need to quite down. In the Halo universe, there are many spartans both male and female. The one you happen to play as in the videogames is a male. And also, give this guy his props man. So what he ripped some stuff off the matrix, but he still had to animate and create everything himself. Big props man, excelent work.

Wow. The comments on here are almost entirely opposite to those on Kotaku. On Kotaku, the vast majority of comments say that the video is lame, and I have to agree with them. I mean, almost every action sequence in the video is taken from something else, Master Chief is acting like someone from Kung Fu Hustle, and the ending is pure fan service. I respect the work and the time that went into making it, but it's still a generally stupid video.

And what's with the negative comments? Can you do better? I sure can't,but I appreciate it for what it is,a very creative,artistic,ORIGINAL idea that will appeal to fans of Halo,Metroid,The Matrix and Star Wars.

WTF. I only noticed like...3 scenes from the Matrix and the Burly Brawl music. I don't remember an awesome shotgun pwnage scene in the Matrix. I also don't remember Samus being in the Matrix and using all of her abilities. Nor do I remember using Covenant shields to ricochet bullets in the Matrix.
The video is awesome. Hell, if it was an exact recreation of the Burly Brawl with Samus fighting 300 Spartans (they can be Master Chiefs or the 300 Spartans from 300, whatever), it'd still be awesome.

Nice movie 1 problem though: MC Is not a GIRL! For three reasons: 1. he doesnt have the right build 2. Doesnt talk like a girl in the games 3. doesnt behave like a girl in trailers or games. And if it was a girl, it wouldnt be Asian.

Two problems,

Samus is biologically altered. If you actually pay atention to the story line, the most advanced race in the metroid universe, altered her, and pumped her up with overly saphisticated technology. So she would win, if not a tie (which it was). And if any of you hated it that much as to criticize the vid, why watch it, or take the time to write negative comments. Plz don't hinder other peoples enjoyement with your negativity.
