Tom Clancy's EndWar announced, set in WWIII
It looks like the recent Tom Clancy viral campaign is no longer a mystery. Ubisoft officially announced the next entry in the Tom Clancy franchise today. Titled EndWar, the game is being built from the ground up for new generation consoles. While specific platforms have not yet been named, it's a fairly safe bet the game will end up on the Xbox 360. EndWar is set in World War III and "will allow gamers to lead their own armies against hundreds of others online." The game is being headed by Michael de Plater who has worked on the PC Total War series for some time now. EndWar is described as a "war strategy game," and considering the talent behind it, it seems like we're in for a brand new RTS. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Shanghai, the team behind Splinter Cell: Double Agent. It's expected to debut sometime this fiscal year (which began this month, so it could easily be 2008).

The world is only after finishing off millions of people in WW2 and they're already fantasising about WW3? I don't care if it's a video game or not it's still just wrong.

Well, since I've just finished reading Red Storm Rising for the umpteenth time, I'm really looking forward to this. If it is an RTS, I hope they give it a decent the control method.
I also hope there's a single player campaign too as the press release only really talks about the online features.

its by ubi shanghai.... its bound to suck. every title theyve touched (splinter cell, blah, blah, blah) has come out crappy.

Damn, there goes my hopes and dreams for Rev64. I was really hoping for something amazing with this game, but alas, a console rts isn't what i was hoping for, and certainly, certainly, CERTAINLY wasn't hoping for Shanghai. Everything Montreal touches turns to gold, and everything Shanghai touches turns to lead. First Pandora Tomorrow, which remains the least entertaining Splinter Cell game to date, then Double Agent, which they totally dropped the ball on (5 levels + 5 visits to JBA counts as 10 levels? Jeez....)... hell, the Xbox version of SCDA was better than the 360 version... not supposed to happen.
My hopes and dreams for another amazing Clancy game have just suddenly been murdered.

I hate RTS games but this is worth checking out I guess. WWII games need to stop existing. When you have enough games to take up more time than the actual war they're based on, you know the subject is dead.

WOW, i'm already addicted, would be nice if they threw in anFPS feature so you can get in on the ground battle. If they did that it could easily become the greatest game ever.

I love RTS games and so far by what i've found out about this game is awsome. i can't wait for this game to come out!!!! it sounds like its gonna be good. i've played rts games for quite a while and this one is pretty much online, meaning its harder. AWSOME!!!!!!!!!
