Finally, some Sonic & SEGA XBLA details

For the first time since its announcement back at The Last E3 Evar we finally have some new info regarding SEGA's involvement with Xbox Live Arcade, and the original Genesis/Mega Drive launch title, Sonic the Hedgehog. We were a little worried that Nintendo's Virtual Console scooped Microsoft, as the title's been available since the Wii's launch. SEGA's apparently going to be releasing their XBLA titles under the "SEGA Vintage Collection", with Sonic leading the pack. More screens available by clicking the "Read" link. So, is it about time, or does it really take AGES to be this good?

FINALLY!!

This was a game I played to death back on the Genesis, and for sentimental reasons alone, it's a must buy for me. Besides, I honestly think Sonic of today just doesnt' compare. Call me an Old Skool Gamer. :)

I'd be alot more excited if I didnt already have the Xbox Sonic Collection. All the sonic games (except Sonic CD) of a bygone era for (then) $20.

And its on the back compat list.

Sonic wasn't a launch title for the Sega Genesis... one of the more important games to be sure but it launched in 1991 and I believe the Genesis debuted in '89 or '90.

yeah, i already have the collection for ox, but if they spruce this bitch up a bit i may be tempted enough to get it. i mean, achievements, after all. hopefully it'll be on par with ms saying the complete opposite of nintendo's "we're too lazy too nostalgic to mess with anything" statement. c'mon online co-op!!! (or just something, man.)
