Spider-Man 3 is most popular on the 360

In the UK Spider-Man's console of choice is the Xbox 360. Activision's mediocre Spider-Man 3 swung its way to a multiplatform release including the 360, PS3, Wii, and PS2 among others. And when the UK sales figures were tallied the Xbox 360 version of the game accounted for a whopping 45% of total sales. The PS2 version (which looks just as good as the 360 version ... ouch) garnered 40% of the game's UK sales with the Wii totaling 10%.What's most interesting is how well the Xbox 360 version of the game sold even outselling the huge install base the PS2 has. Even more interesting is that the PS3 numbers for Spider-Man 3 sales are pretty much non-existent. Either the 360's community is the prime demographic for the Spider-Man franchise or it could be the largest next-gen console install base, we can't be sure. But we do know that Spider-Man 3 is one huge marketing machine with a box office to prove it.

I don't think I'll be picking it up after all, judging by reviews posted around the net. Unfortunately with games priced at 70$+ I stopped being an impulse buyer. :(

I'm really amazed by how poorly it turned out. The last one was pretty decent, they certainly had enough time to work on this and the developer is respected... what happened?
As for sales, in general, it just seems like 360 users really like buying games. The system must have a really high tie-in ratio by now.

PS3 and 360 version got same scores at most website, they are equally HORRIBLE.

i had the ps3 collector edition and man this game sux ass! it looks like a ps2 game or worse. i mean come on,pop up on a next gen system. tryarch you suck! you did ok with cod3,so why cant they get a movie game right for once. thats ok i traded it today for c&c 3. much better game.

I get your point. I think we also should avoid RENTING crappy games just for the achievements.
The numbers should be:
0% for Xbox 360, 0% for PS3, 0% for PS2 and 1% for others (the occasional my-son-is-going-to-loooove-this-game mother)

i think thats a product of so little ELSE available on any system.
I made the mistake of buying Spiderman 3 for PS3. Jees... so dull wack boring crap. But there was nothing out otherwise.

I lurk at PS3FB, and you're an unabashed sony fanboy, not that there's anything wrong with that. I also never said I liked the new spidey game, and quite honestly agree, it was poorly done. The only purpose in a purchase, in my opinion, is achievement points and even then I likley won't bite, hell, KK is an easy 1000 AP, and I still haven't bit.

I did not like the game at all. I tried for a couple of hours and gave up. It looks very last gen to me. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't.

How about 0% sale PERIOD? In what world does this game deserve to be bough or even rented? Regardless what achievement points you can get. If you get achievement points for going to the dentist, would you do it?
in that sense, Spidy is more painful than Dentist.

high tie-in ratio is pretty much SOLELY related to achievements... cuz lets be honest there's been nothing but HORSESHIT coming out lately left and right...ps3, 360 and wii. my wii is getting run on bowling only. the other two systems have been getting no power-ons save for a few minutes of anger at spidey 3

It's no big secret why the 360 version is selling so well.
It's simple, really.
There hasn't been a Spider-Man game for the 360 up until this one. The PS2 already had Spider-Man 2, and all the others. XBox 360 didn't actually get backwards-compatiibility with SM2 until just recently, and so this is the first real chance for 360 fans to play a SM2-type game. PS3 fans has backwards compatibility with the previous titles. Wii fans did, too.

Don't you guys get it. The PS3 version isn't in the list, cause the games ain't released in Europe for PS3 yet.
So it's 0% of course. Stupid fanboys just thought it was more popular. After it's released for PS3 you can say that, but not before.

Hell, I enjoyed this game, I've played all of them back to spiderman on sega genesis. I'm not saying its the best game ever made or anything, but I did find it fun. I don't notice any bugs or it running slow or all that crap you read on the reviews, it runs great on my 360. Hope the DLC that comes out for it will be cool, if they put out DLC..I hope..

cool i like the spiderman 3 game not as much as 2 but its no differet then 2 and that got a great score so i dont see everyones proplem
i wouldent buy it not until its like 20 bucks used
