First Fable 2 video diary now available
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, Fable fans of all ages, the first Lionhead Video Diary is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. You can also grab it from Lionhead's website. Of course, if you're not too picky about fancy res-molutions, you can watch it right here in this post. If you kept track of Fable 2 during GDC, then you won't find too much new information here, although you will get a few cursory glances at the game in development and a high resolution fly-through of some of the environments. Give it a watch and tell us what you think.
Note to Lionhead: let's put more gameplay into the next video diary, hmm?

I really hope that dog can die.. it's not gonna feel to 'real' if it can't
Tim @ May 24th 2007 12:03PM
Yeah because everything else about it is so realistic.

If you use a lot of magic, your hair turns white...and you said its not realistic

Anyone else having problems with galleries?

After watching this, I'm looking forward to this game more than ever. If they really can pull of the dog, it has the potential to make gamers "game" harder to keep those he "loves" alive. Could be interesting... keep an open mind before passing judgement (holy crap. Am I getting paid by LionHead to write this??)
Anyway, I'm truthly looking forward to this more than any Final Fantasy game. I really liked the first one but thought it was just a tad short and while it had many great ideas, non of them seem fleshed out enough. He's to hoping the deep pockets of Microsoft help this be all it can be (like Gears of War and Forza 2).

"Anyone else having problems with galleries?"
Not sure what was wrong there. It seems to be fixed now.

@3 yea man, Gandalf used magic and he had white hair
But seriously, this could be one of the biggest things released on the 360 during its whole life span. Even Mass Effect doesn't really seem like it could stand up to Fable 2...But I'm getting Mass Effect when its released anyways :D

Fable lived up to my expectations rather spectacularily. I am anxiously awaiting Fable 2...the musical score is most likely second only to Halo that gets my heart pumping for the game. Good times.

I hope they can pull off a lot of the things they had planned to do when Fable 1 was Project Ego. It looks like they opened up your roaming area which is great, the first one felt a bit claustrophobic.

Fable (and later Fable: The Lost Chapters) have become one of my favorite game series. I bought my Xbox for the game, and it was every bit worth it, in my eyes.
A lot of people were disappointed that Molyneux over-hyped the game, but I for one wasn't privy to the hype. I didn't hear about the dropped features until long after I had beaten the game for the 10th or 11th time. But you know what? After reading about those hyped features, I wasn't really all that disappointed. Honestly most of them seemed pointless.
I think that people should play through Fable: TLC without thinking about what could have been, and just enjoy it for the fantastic game it is. The fact of the matter is that stuff gets cut, it's the nature of the business. Of any business, really. Disgruntled gamers, let go of your anger.
On the bright side though, Fable 2 will undoubtably build off everything Fable: TLC started. So we'll probably see all of those cut features re-added. And in addition to that Molyneux promised to not hype what wasn't ready yet, and so far he's kept that promise.

As far as I know the dog can't 'die' but you can just get it really badly injured and leave it to find its own way home (limping, dragging damaged limbs, etc).
Apparently it will eventually find you, but you can just ignore it (though if you do people will make bad comments to you like "who could treat their dog like that", etc).
Its possible to play the game without the dog, but the dog is so valuable that I don't see why you should want to.
