Another
Forza 2 customized paint job arrived in our inbox today and we thought its inspiration was noteworthy. Some of us (including me) have experienced the dreaded red lights and have had to deal with Microsoft's semi-helpful customer service to send off a broken 360.
CoolNumber9 is having the same red ring of death problems and has been using the "towel trick" to keep it running long enough to make a ring of death inspired Forza 2 car. It may not be the most badass ride on the block, but anyone who has had to deal with the red lights will shudder when they see this beast in their rear view mirror. Long live die the ring of death!
And as always, send us your custom Forza 2 creations so we can add them to our lovely gallery below.

I must be like the only person in the world who hasn't had any problems at all with my 360. Seriously.

Wow... last friday I did get a RRoD while playing Forza 2. I'm going to be so bored for the next fortnight!

Hey I guess me know he likes his 360 in the horizontal position too (Yeah I'm that bored already)

I had the 3 red lights not too long ago and the towel trick did work for a while. I then took it apart and applied the "eraser fix" and that 360 has not redlighted since (that;s about 2 months now). It now acts as a second extender in the bedroom.
The fix is documented here: http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php?pagename=Xbox360EraserFixError0102
I was extremely dubious when I read through it but I had nothing to lose so I tried it and the results speak for themsleves.

Now, we just need 60% of the players using the car... (until MS talks openly about the real problem rate)

Not true Chris, #5.
I've yet to encounter a real problem with my xbox360.
The only time I've encountered the rings of death is when I accidentally disconnect the wiring with my foot.
Reconnect and I'm good to go.

I have to say that the guy in the "eraser trick" photos probably got the RRoD because he has his 360 sitting on top of his XBox.
How many times do I have to say it? DON'T PUT YOUR 360 ON TOP OF OTHER COMPONENTS, OR IN AN ENCLOSED SPACE, OR ON THE FLOOR.
I still say most of the "defective" 360s ended up that way because people don't follow the above advice.

as unreal as it may sound i had the three rings of death this morning but then i switched it back on after 3 hours and it worked fine lets hope i dont see it again though

People who keep making these pseudo-moral judgements about others having 360 failures are complete dickheads. Subconsciously, you feel that you have not yet had a problem because you are better than other people, or that you are somehow morally superior to those who have had problems. Get over yourselves.
This is not about you being the "chosen people of Xbox" or that others are "less worthy" owners than you. It is not the fault of most owners that they have had problems. It's Microsoft's fault ALONE that their current generation of systems is not outliving the previous one. It's a consumer product issue, not judgement day. Get real.

Nice car CoolNumber9, that design is inspired. (And another Renault Cleo FTW.)
I've not had a RoD - at least not yet - but definitely consider myself morally inferior.
