Microsoft's E3 lineup leaked?

Rumor is flying around the internet that Microsoft's secret E3 lineup has been leaked. The news was posted over on the Wii60 forums and is a list of what Microsoft is supposedly going to be showing, info leaked by an E3 floor manager. Games include a new Crimson Skies sequel, Kameo 2 including a bunch of Rare games, a Gears of War 2 trailer, and Dead Rising 2. The rumor goes even further to say that Microsoft will also be announcing that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be a 360 exclusive, Metal Gear Solid will be headed to the Xbox, and that they purchased the rights to Star Wars Battlefront 3. Full list of rumored announcements posted after the break.Not to be overly pessimistic, but we really feel this "leak" sounds kind of fishy and give it a 35% chance of actually being real. Do all these announcements sound probable? Heck yes. But we'll be cautious in getting our hopes up too much. Though, if it were all true, Microsoft would definitely get all the attention at E3.

idk sounds a bit fishy but if its true that woul be awsome.Im looking foward to the rare games like kameo 2 and banjo and difinitly dead rising 2 i loved 1. MGS would be good news because it would bring more ppl over to 360 land but i dont really like the game.But you just got to wonder if this is true wht does bungie have up thier sleaves this time.

Sounds all very possible and highly probable..just NOT for this year. Gears of War 2 trailer..so soon? And during the hype of Halo 3? I don't buy that for a second. it'd take away some steam from Bungie, for one thing.

I could see a strictly CG trailer Toph, no actual gameplay, maybe just some movie footage of events to happen in the next game. They've already got the engine and everything, not that unrealistic.

That's not really how Bungie works. They finish one project and start the next one. Maybe they are growing and can start doing mulitple projects at once. They have been releasing Halo 2 maps while working on Halo 3.

I have a feeling Sony has dished out some handfuls of cash to get MGS4 as an exclusive behind closed doors. That doesn't stop a new project going to the 360, though.
Things I think are spot on:

This was posted on NeoGAF two nights ago and was instantly refuted by Arne of the Microsoft Community Team as well as Frankie from Bungie Studios.
Frankie's exact quote: "Knowing for a fact how much of that is utter bullshit, plus seeing the obvious educated guesses rolled in, I am going to go ahead and say that the original post is complete garbage."
Obviously some of these things might show up, but there is absolutely no truth to this. The fact that you report every stupid rumor some kid on a messageboard makes up is beyond me. Learn to do your job correctly.

While I wish this were true, I call this BS for several logic reasons.
Reason #1. No announcement of Halo 3 single player campaign. Are you kidding me? The whole point of trade shows is to continue building hype of new game releases. Granted, Halo 3 doesn't really need any additional hype, but MS would be silly not to announce something about their single player campaign.
Reason #2. GoW2 announcement. I doubt MS would want to steal any press away from Halo 3 by announcing Gow 2. Besides, Epic would instead show footage of Unreal Tourney instead since they need to hype that.
Reason #3. MS buying "rights to" Starwars Battlefront. LucasArts has its own publishing arm. There's no reason they would sell the Battlefront "rights" to MS. It would make more sense if it were an exclusive, but the wording of MS buying "rights" is utter BS.
Reason #4. Ninja Gaiden 2 from Team Ninja. I doubt Takagaki would want to alienate the Sony folks by making any Ninja Gaiden 2 announcement in the wake of the Ninja Gaiden release for the PS3.
Reason #5. MGS on 360. Puh-lease....Unlike Namco and Capcom, Konami has been steadfast in the support of the PS3. They've never changed their stance. I don't see it happening anytime soon.
There are more (Rare making so many games), but those are the main points that jump out to me. I hope on wrong, but I doubt it.
Also, there are too many items missing from the annnoucement. Where's the US Blue Dragon release? What about Trusty Bell? Ace Combat 6? All the great XBL releases like Bomberman?
Like I said....BS.

I went to Wal-mart yesterday and seen one of those Sony traveling trucks with the ps3 kiosks outside. They were blaring techno music and practically begging people to come check out motorstorm and a baseball game. I went to check it out since I’m a real gamer and not a fanboy. I sure didn’t see all those games that Microsoft wants, as a matter of fact, I didn’t see ANYBODY wanting to play them. Even my six year old son said "this sucks" as we went on with our shopping. You must be one diehard fan to think anyone gives a rats about the PS3 and its 2 or 3 games.

GangWay, you're forgetting that that truck probably only has games that have been released. Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank; things like that will make the PS3 a less dull experience. BulletToothTony, it appears you seem to have some need to prove to us that we don't like our 360's. They are fun, and that's all that matters. Sure, MGS4 and FFXIII on the 360 would be awesome, but we chose 360 for a reason. Not because of the games it could get, but because of the games it is getting, such as BioShock, Mass Effect, and Halo 3, as well as the games it already has like Gears of War and Forza 2.

Gears of War 2 is already a planned sequel - it wouldn't be a real surprise. Dead Rising 2 has already been in some magazines not as a rumor of a game, but a rumor of Microsoft paying Capcom a moneyhat to keep it 360 exclusive.

- Bungie will have a playable demo of Halo 3 single player. It won't actually be the campaign.
- Epic Games to show off Unreal Tournament 3.

- Ace Combat 6 release date and demo.
- Eternal Sonata release date and demo.

There hasn't been a lot of credibility in these "alleged" lineup leaks (most of the supposed lineup for Sony at GDC was incorrect), so I'm not gonna put a lot of credence on this rumor as-well. There also appears to be numerous aspects of this list that don't seem very plausible. For instance, I doubt a Gears of War 2 trailer would be shown as it would take some attention away from not only Halo 3 but Epic's own game, Unreal Tournament 3. An announcement for Ninja Gaiden 2 also sounds early, considering the other projects the game's developers been working on lately. At best MGS4 will be a timed exclusive for the PS3, and by time exclusive I mean they wont even confirm it'll be released on the 360 until months after its release on the PS3.

It's nice to see the Sony Defense Force coming over here and getting all uppity. I was watching this unfold over at the official PS3 forums and seriously, if the people on those boards over there don't have something to complain about/defend in regards to the PS3, they aren't a happy crowd. It must really suck to have to defend your video game console every damn day. If you're that sure that the PS3 is the superior console, then you shouldn't have to feel the need to come over to the Xbox fanboy site and take it so personally when items such as these are posted. Seriously, if you have zero doubts about the "greatness" of Sony's product, you'd be secure enough not to act like complete morons.

Konami loyal? Its true Pro Evo was shit for the 360 and the xbox the year before, oh and MGS 2: Substance in some cases wasn't AS good as the pS2, and Silent Hill 1 & 2 were a little late, and not to mention Castlevania is actually XBLA.
So I suppose you are right Konami are very loyal to Sony ;)

Why would a Gears of War 2 trailer hurt Halo 3? The Halo 3 trailer sure didn't hurt Gears of War last year and GoW was a brand new franchise, not an established blockbuster like the Halo series. I think a few of the things on the list will be shown, but that will be a coincidence, not proof of the "leak."

Do the two new Rare include Kameo, or are they showing 3 games in total.
I loved Battlefront PS2, but was too cheap to get 2. I heard they were making 3, but I doubt it will be exclusive, well it wasn't when I heard they were making it.
The Bungie project, sounds interesting, maybe it is Marathon and the leak is wrong or perhaps they do have a new IP. Either way I hope they announce the Marathon XBLA.

You guys are a riot. I own both systems and I know these rumors are utter BS. We all know that Dead Rising 2 will eventually be coming out, but Capcom is going to publicize Resident Evil 5 before anything else, since that's what they're working on now. Dead Rising 2 is quite a ways off from even being announced. And based on Itagaki's recent comments, I'm not so sure he's happy with the 360 even though it is a relative success. When Xbox was out, he gravitated toward that because of it's superior power. I see the same thing happening this time around towards the PS3. BTW i play the Warhawk beta, and if Crimson Skies 2 comes out, it's going to have some heavy competition. Scratch that, with the amount of play in Warhawk, I'm not sure an air-only Crimson Skies could compete with the varied combat of Warhawk.
I also agree that Halo 3 is going to be the big hit of the show (not a measly GOW2 teaser) because I expect that everyone that has played the beta is going to be blown away by the near finished product as well as the single player campaign (can't wait for that 4 player co-op).

It is more likely that MGS4 will be ported to the 360 than not. probably 6 months or so after the PS3.
I mean, i could be wrong, but the ps3's install base is still pretty small. id say you have about a 30 percent chance of it remaining exclusive.

If MGS 4 goes to 360 the PS3 really has no reason to exist. Think about it what does PS3 have that 360 does not? 360 has better online by far better games by far and what does PS3 have? MGS 4, well thats most likely goin to 360, so they don't have that. All they will realy have is Warhawk and really far in the future God of War 3, oh yea and Killzone 2, thats gonna suck. Think about it 360 has pretty much everything now accept for like 2 ok games plus we got Halo 3. So yea all you little PS3 fanboys think about that what does PS3 have that 360 doesn't have??
Im actually thinking about selling my PS3 because im getting sick of the lack of online, lack of games and no rumble.

First of all, the new war hawk is ass. Its an online multi player only game and the ps3 online is broken.
Secondly Epic wouldnt really give a shit if a Gears Of War 2 announcment would take away steam from Bungie at all. All it would really do Is show us all what the #1 thing to look forward to in 08 is.
Third, MGS franchise is ok but honestly, it has poor replay value, so want it if U all want, I couldnt care less about that game on the #1 Next gen console in the world.

Ironic that the guys that throw the 'fanboy' term out first are the ultimate fanboys themselves. "Warhawk is ass" yeah sure that's a priceless quote there. I'm not sure how you'd know that since you don't play on the beta. MS is too scare to come out with demos for games like Shadowrun before they're released because they know that the games suck! Halo 3 should be good though, I played that beta, and although I'm not much of a Halo fan, I can see the quality there. Again, I have both systems and I enjoy them both, but you guys really sound like a bunch of pricks.

Lets C, No single player story mode makes warhawk ass. Tell me, what good is warhawk gonna be after sony scraps its online service due to poor sales? Because guess what? Thats gonna be the first feature they drop cheese right after a massive price drop still fails to sell systems for them. And as far as betas go, U guys are all too happy to be beta testers for free. Sony is dieing outa the console industry face the facts. All signs point to this and the Entire history of console gamming has always shown us that when a system is down it never gets back on its feet. Lets see, sony ps3, poor sales, poor launch titles, delayed games, unable to aquire key titles to stay compeditive, Replacing the CEO,lol always a key sign and my favorite, firing large chunks of its employees in the U.S. division. And lets not forget the crappy non rumbling controller. Please tell me what game the ps3 has that is worth buying 1? Motor Storm? LMAO! How about fps by the ratchet and clank crew? Oh its got MGS4 and ff13 on the way wooooooo. Big deal, hardly any1 carse about ff any more and no1 is gonna be playing mgs4 after they have beaten it 1 or 2 times. and neither game certainly will not win game of the year awards. U can add all the game sales from all current ps3 titles and ff/mgs4 and U still wont have half the sales Halo 3 is gonna generate. Sony is down and Microsoft stands before them laughing and spitting on them while Nintendo is kicking them. Its been along time comming and a beating well deserved.

Im only joking,But seriously, you own a 360 and you are bold enough to say that microsoft is scared to put out demos for games(and the shadow run demo is awesome). I'd say that 90% of all games released on the xbox 360 have had a demo hit the marketplace. Honestly, live has me so spoiled, that i actually get a little pissed when i cant demo a non AAA title before i buy it.
Getting back on topic, I remain cautiously optimistic about this list of announcements. While I dont think anything they mentioned is a killer announcement, they all seem like solid advancements for the 360.

Where's the logic here. Takagaki already said that the main focus will remain on the 360 and it'll probably won't be finished this year anyway.

This is nonsense. Every single year, this "secret information" gets "leaked" before E3, and it ALWAYS turns out to be bogus. The same will apply here.
I'm laughing at people who think showing a Gears trailer will take away from Halo 3's momentum. Nothing short of a cancellation of the game itself will stop Halo 3's momentum. I don't seem to recall MS being worried that the first Halo 3 trailer would hurt GoW....or PGR4's announcement hurting Forza 2...or (if this list is to be believed) Kameo 2's announcement hurting Banjo.
Games don't have to have the spotlight all to themselves, guys.

I think the leak is bogus. some of it will be true, surely. Gears Two, a sequel for Dead Rising, mhm. a sequel for Crimson Skies has already been bandied about in bnm publications for a while now, so that's not unlikely. Fable two was shown at GDC and in videodocs on Live, so it's a pretty sure thing that we'll see more of it at ME3. Rare is almost certainly working on a new Kameo in addition to BK3, but two more games seems like a large workload, so who knows. Bungie would probably be about ready to begin a new project, given that Halo 3 is nearly ready to launch; that seems like non-news.
actually, most of this seems like non-news. the stretch items are Battlefront, because LucasArts doesn't seem inclined to lose potential sales by tying the franchise to one system; and MGS, because Konami has issued many statements saying it is, at the moment, still PS3 exclusive.
but who knows.
