Coming to Xbox Live Arcade: The Office?
You might have read over at Joystiq that MumboJumbo is working on a video game based on NBC's The Office. The game is set to feature the characters from the show depicted as bobblehead dolls. Players will be challenged to complete jobs and pull pranks around the office. Currently, the game is slated to appear on the DS, PSP, and PC. According to Variety, the game won't be developed for new-gen consoles because of its relative simplicity. XBLArcade begs to differ, noting that MumboJumbo's deal includes the option to create the title for Xbox Live Arcade.MumboJumbo recently released Luxor 2 on XBLA, so they definitely have experience with the platform. Whether or not The Office will actually make an appearance on Live Arcade remains only a rumor at this point.
Now, if we could just get The Office to make an appearance on Video Marketplace, we'd really be getting somewhere.

I'd much rather see BBC's The Office.

I'd much rather see something else (anything else)

This is a terrible, terrible idea. The game concept sounds downright unappealing.
Better game concepts:
-2D Fighting game with character selection. Just hearing "Creed vs Phyllis" sells it. Uses sound-bites, samples and unorthodox fighting styles.
-Office Paintball. Simple FPS with multiplayer on XBOX Live. Characters provide commentary and narration. Dwight shouting "Finish him".
-Office Olympics. Game based off of competitions shown in episode from last season.

I love the show, but I've got to say that I think this is going to be a horrible game.

@1 i second that...uk one 100 times better.

wow what a waste of time

I imagine if they *do* attempt a release on XBLA (which is not a stretch) they would do it along side some content for video marketplace. It just makes sense that way.

Americas version of the Office is THE BEST! Favorite show besides Senfield.

The UK Office was teh sux0rs compared to the US version. Anyone that says differently is a pretentious ass that just wants to appear cool.
rajun50 @ Jun 20th 2007 4:28PM
1st, the UK version sucked compared to the US version. 2nd, I agree that the Marketplace needs "The Office" episodes (in HD). Thirdly, and lastly, the game will probably blow ass.

Who cares if it blows ass....I'll still buy it just to see that great Dwight bobble head come to life and stalk over the office any day.
It would be nice to see some other NBC content besides the shitty Studio 60 show which was canceled months ago for being so horrible

@1&5: Definitely. I tried watching the US one when it came out but couldn't really get into it.
Got a feeling the game might be rubbish though.
Boff @ Jun 21st 2007 5:14AM
And I'd have thought most Yanks will prefer the US one as it's tailored more to an American audience.
(But us Brits all know the BBC one is the original and best!!)
