Rare is so not working on Killer Instinct 3

In their latest mailbag answering session of Scribes, Rare squishes then squashes the rumor that their team is currently working on a Killer Instinct sequel stating that "purely out of contractual obligation, no, we're not working on KI3". Rare also re-emphasizes that their main focus right now is the Xbox 360 Banjo-Kazooie sequel which we're sure we'll be seeing at this year's E3.

That pretty much ends the Rare rumor squashing for today. But let it be known that their yet to be announced project after Banjo ships is totally fair game for the rumor generators among us.

I wanna see The First Killer Instinct 4 the Live Arcade way more than a new KI.

A) Rare really and I mean Really fucked up KI 2 on the 64.
B) What are the chances that a new KI would be 2D? Dose any1 really wanna see this game as a 3d fighter?

Bring the arcade version of Ki to the Arcade and It could sell as high as 1200 ms points.

I really think if you polled the fans, more people would like to see one of the first two on XBLA more than a third installment, I know I fit into that category. They haven't denied working on Live release either yet, just a new sequal, so we can at least hope that min-E3 presents us with some good news.

KI 1 FTW! Fulgore's combos seemed to go on forever. I can't believe MS hasn't tapped that resource yet.

man i love killer instinct-was a huge fan at the arcades,even bought it for the snes-lame-when it came out! had ki 1 and 2 on my old xbox....id pay whatever for the ki on xbla-and would love to see a new ki on the 360 as well.

tjis is FRIKKIN so like RARE to pull this SH*T!!! Whe the H3LL are they going to give the fan's KI: Whatever?? This game could get back all the real fan's that RARE lost with the sub-par games that they have released in the last couple of years!! Not to mention that they have an opportunity to take control of a very lacking Fighting Genre!! Here's an easy one guy's, how about you just give KI 2 on XBLA so you won't have to commit to the fan's that you will make sequel!! LAME, just LAME!!!!
