First Rock Band demo video surfaces [update 1]
Our friends over at Gamespot posted a video demonstrating Rock Band in all its four player band mate glory and then they quickly pulled it. But thanks to some quick saving and YouTube, we have the video embedded above. The video showcases four enthusiastic band mates jamming to Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" using two Guitar Hero II X-plorer controllers, the drum kit and a microphone. The screen layout is simplistic enough with vocals on top, guitars on the left and
Update 1: Sean, Harmonix man, posted on the official Rock Band forums that this video is a very early build used for internal purposes and isn't representative of the final game. Also, "Welcome to the Jungle" was used as a demo song and is NOT locked down to be in the game just yet. So, it's far from official, but a boat load of media will be headed our way during E3. Stay tuned.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

Drums are actually in the middle. And I'm mostly interested in what that has to offer.
Iced_Eagle @ Jul 4th 2007 11:06AM
Yea, the guitars are actually on the left and right, with drums in the middle.
Anyways, that looks awesome! I can't wait to see what else they'll show at E3.

Yikes. Rock Band is poised to crush Guitar Hero.

Wow, that looks pretty damn cool for an early build. Suddenly I'm very happy I have two of the Explorer guitars from GH2. Now I'll just need the drum set...

This looks like it could be pretty fun. I hope that you'll still be able to just play one or two guitar parts like the Guitar Hero games, though. I'm not looking for anything more just yet.
It sounded like the game had its own vocals behind the girl singing so its probably possible.

Ur gonna need the Rock Band Guitar for the 10 button layout. Not sure if U can get away with GH2's guitar the whole time. Plus RB's Guitar looks bad ass, Is a fender Strat and is Wireless. Woo WOo! PLus, Isnt there going 2 be bass parts as well?
The only thing holding Rockband back is the Price. How much will this game cost?
By itself alone I imagine 59.99
Game w/Wireless Guitar, anywhere from 99.99 to 129.99(
ccc @ Jul 4th 2007 12:25PM
ACk,
As I was saying, I'll wager that the whole set of everything, game included will cost 189.99

That looks friggin sweet!! OMG lol, I just got guitar hero, and my kids love trying to thrash, I feel a family band coming on :D
Can I recommend the song "Gay Bar" by Electric Six!
That would be mental in this :D

According to my sources the best part is that when the game comes it that it will have 2 GNR songs off Chinese Democracy which is set to release the same week.

Honestly I'm not too concerned about the new guitar layout right now, I just want the drums. From what I've read the extra buttons will just be for special solo sections but not necessary for basic guitar gameplay. I'll let my g/f and my best bud back my up with my guitars. Neither of them have a 360.
Boff @ Jul 5th 2007 4:56AM
I'm impressed! That looks A LOT of fun!! And you can't go wrong with some old school GnR, fingers crossed it makes it into the final build.
Rock on!
As long as you can get your rock on with online co-op (or maybe a combination of local and online multiplayer?) I'll be a happy man.
xenocidic @ Jul 5th 2007 9:26AM
So it actually judges you on the vocals too? Pretty interesting.
murph @ Jul 5th 2007 11:37AM
hotter than hot. wow.
i hope the guitar is wireless.

Ah, a drummer. Well if U end up being good at smacking those things let me know when it comes out as I will be looking for 1 of those to add to my online band:)

It's not "looksy" you dolts! It's "look-see."
It's an old imitation of pidgin English, but you could at least get it right. Do you guys have a proofreader or editor, or do you just throw darts at a board filled with letters and hope you got a word right? Do you have a dictionary..? Because "look-see" is in there, but "looksy" is not, and a writer (or his editors) should know this.
Come on, man. I know this is just a blog, but it's a paid gig. Do it right.
