Europe and Canada to get Video Marketplace in Fall
At Microsoft's E307 Media Briefing, Peter Moore announced that Xbox Live's Video Marketplace would be going worldwide, or more specifically, to Europe as well as Canada. Apparently, XBLVM will be available in these new locales this fall, a full year since the announcement and launch in November 2006 in the States. This came hot off of the announcement of Disney partnering with Microsoft to bring HD movies to Video Marketplace tonight. We're very happy to see Video Marketplace have a broader reach, though it will be interesting to see what content discrepancies there are when it launches in the coming months.

So wait. I get confused with announcements by Microsoft.
Is Australia a part of Europe still, or are we actually recognised as a completely different part of the world?
Because frankly, I'd like to be the one that gets the cool content.

About time! Hopefully we get some good HD stuff
Ithilis @ Jul 11th 2007 7:54AM
It's about damn time. I hope we get all of the content, and not a limited catalog.

Wooooo!!!! At last!! Hopefully there'll be some decent (HD) content available at the same time. I've been holding off and holding off getting a HD-DVD drive, looks like the wait is nearly over!

Hallelujah!!!
The reason to get an HD-DVD drive is kaput!
We all love you MS!

Ditto about holding off on the HD-dvd drive - I'm quite happy to just rent stuff at the moment as HD-dvd's are so expensive compared to regular dvd - I know I couldn't justify buying any hd-dvds for £15-£20 when I pick up most of my DVD's for £6-7

It's about time, all they need now is to get IPTV sorted with BT and Elites will fly off the shelves come August 24th.

I don't mean to be the hater or anything, but I've used that marketplace and highly recomend not purchasing any tv episodes. If you ever end up off line or off xbox live for some reason, you will be unable to even glimpse those videos that you paid money for. It's a bit of a rip.

Man I'm glad this day will finally be arriving. Now I'm just dreaming for that IPTV option hopefully through Rogers up here in Canada, I'm getting horny just thinking about it.
mike @ Jul 11th 2007 4:59PM
rogers will not be supporting iptv through the xbox 360. It was already stated that Bell canada WILL be however. It doesent really matter either way cause IPTV is a cable tv replacment so regardsless if you have rogers or express vu now, you will need to cancel both and sign up for bells IPTV plan (Which I can assure you will be the same, or more then your currently paying for your monthly cable bill. It will however offer more variety.

Wahey!!
Ooh I can't wait! I hope the download speeds are good though! I have 3-4 mb broadband so standard definition TV programmes shouldn't take long at all!
