In a
video interview with Xbox.com's Major Nelson, Microsoft's Vice President of Global Marketing Jeff Bell just might have let one of
Halo 3's long
rumored secrets slip. Towards the end of the interview, while talking about his gaming habits, Bell said that he loved playing
Halo 2 co-op with his son and then said that "
we're really looking forward to playing with my three sons, all together on Halo 3"
. All together playing
Halo 3 eh? Sounds a lot like a four player campaign co-op
Halo 3 experience to us. But, to be fair, he didn't specify how he and his children were going to play
Halo 3, although his remarks came right after he was talking about the teamwork he and his one son experienced while playing
Halo 2 co-op. So, it's not "officially" confirmed, but darned if it doesn't make for some great water cooler material.

I think he only could have been talking about 4 person Co-op. Think about it, him and his 3 sons could have played together in multiplayer in Halo 1 and Halo 2, so for him to distinguish that as being special for Halo 3 basically means that this is something completely new, aka 4 person coop!!!!

Not to mention they bothered making a four seater warthog.... beyond that the clips are coincidental... like the part where there are two mongooses together.... Anyway.. Why make a four seater when the three works just fine........

Is it local 4 player co op? I used to play through halo 1 co op with 2 other mates, and we had to trade controllers all the time, which got irritating (two of us play inverted, and the other plays standard). Being able to play 3 or 4 player co op would rule!!!

intresting about the 4 seater.
how would you like to be left out of joining your buddies on a joy-ride around town?
4 seater FTW!

I have been expecting this...still I hope it turns out to be true. 4 Spartans...untouchable!
rockeranimefreak @ Jul 14th 2007 12:47PM
4 player co-op?! this is madness! :) i wonder if they will have 4 player co-op online?
revans_one @ Jul 14th 2007 12:50PM
I hope that they try and work co-op into the story more...like gears did, so that you're not just a copy of the chief, you're actually another character.
It does look like 2 player co-op will make one be the chief, one be the arbiter (also since the elites weren't in the beta maybe they actually control differently to the chief)
but i'm guessing unless the bring some of the other surviving spartans into the story (which they have to), who the 3rd and 4th player could be, they might just end up having to be high ranking elites...

isn't this just a logical step? in the first two parts we were able to play either as two master chiefs or as two of these alien thingies. as we can see in the latest trailer, these two fractions do now fight side by side, so 2 plus 2 makes four or am I wrong?
Drew Sevigny @ Jul 14th 2007 2:37PM
^ Yeah, that's perfect! Two Master Chiefs and two Arbiters! There is definitely going to be 4-player co-op local, but I also hope that there will be 4 player co-op online!
Anticrawl @ Jul 14th 2007 10:37PM
With four-player online co-op I may just forget about any experience I had in online co-op for Gears of War. But you'd certainly have to play only legendary with 4 player online co-op otherwise it'd be rather boring if the other two are any indication of difficultly.

Can some one tell me why halo 3 is only for xbox 360?
What about the future of up coming halo games (4,5) will they be for this system only as well? Or is it just geared for whatever system is the newest at thet time?
axel869 @ Jul 15th 2007 8:23AM
hey halo3 is the last chapter in the epic story and the other games will be made by peter jackson in the halo universe but not sequals and by the way if u go back and look at the trailer. do u guys remember how in co op h2 when ever ur partner was out of sight they had that little green trianle marker thing to show wher they were well if u look at the trailer carefully that marker is seen twice once by the scarab and the other when chief is fighting a brute i think. oh and there was no split screen so it had to be seperate consoles
Marcus Fenix @ Jul 15th 2007 9:37AM
I was talking to my buddies, Dom, Cole, and a couple others, and we think it would be VERY COOL if the Campaign Mode of Halo 3 included a 4-player Co-Op for both offline and online.
That way, even if you don't have online, you could still play 4-players at the same time, while playing the Campaign mode.
And when you want to have the screen all to yourself, you could play Single-player Campaign Mode, with 4 people using Xbox Live!!!
That is AWESOME!!!!
Grindstone @ Jul 16th 2007 2:49PM
Well if Marcus Fenix -- lead character in Gears Of War says it's awesome, then you know to expect something, erm, awesome.
As for leslie halll, who apparently doesn't know much about this industry; Halo 3 is a Microsoft exclusive because they own Bungie who is producing the game. It will never be on any other game console, save for the 360/PC.
