Developer Infinity Ward decided to involve the
Call of Duty community in making one of the biggest decisions for
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare ... the box art. Yup, Infinity Ward wants
your opinion on what art will grace the
CoD 4 cover and ultimately sit on retail shelves. Their art department created five different box art concepts to choose from (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo) and are looking for the community to comment, vote and make any suggestions for their favorite box art. You can view all five concepts in our gallery below and have your voice be heard over on the official voting forums, but you'll have to register first. Our favorite is
"Charlie", because it's badass plain and simple, but you can vote on any design you choose. Go now, exercise your right to vote!
One a side-note, we just noticed something on the bottom of all the box art samples, a little "Storage Required" logo featuring a Xbox 360 HDD and memory card. Hmm, interesting ...

Sadistik Roth]

This game is at the top of my list for this year.
refinedsugar @ Jul 21st 2007 4:48PM
I'd go for Echo myself.
Eric @ Jul 21st 2007 5:01PM
I signed up and voted for alpha. It just pops the most.
LtT LivinLegend @ Jul 21st 2007 5:08PM
I think Charlie looks the best.
Obliviously you guys are going to talk about this in your next podcast but what are you're guys favs?
L. Lerebours @ Jul 21st 2007 5:09PM
uhm. Infinity Ward didn't give us much of a choice. Its all the same art just different levels of zoom and alternate layouts. Would of been cooler if they had different artworks.
shadowtech @ Jul 21st 2007 5:12PM
Delta is the best one.
THA1icarus @ Jul 21st 2007 5:20PM
"Alpha" Box Art looks the best to me.
Stephen @ Jul 21st 2007 5:26PM
I didn't like any. What they need is a pinup saluting a soldier riding an elephant.
Arno @ Jul 21st 2007 5:55PM
I'd go with Echo but I'm not registering all my info just to tell 'em that.
Blanky @ Jul 21st 2007 6:39PM
Someone from USA need free Xbox360 ? :] I was kidding. Is there someone from USA ?
Hoosierdady812 @ Jul 21st 2007 8:01PM
Is it just me of do all these boxes look strangely like the boxart for Resistance: Fall of Man on the PS3. I get that distinct feeling just from looking at them.
Yoshi @ Jul 21st 2007 8:04PM
My favorites were Alpha and Charlie, the others seem too zoomed out.
jimy @ Jul 21st 2007 8:04PM
deltaaaa
Travis @ Jul 21st 2007 8:25PM
yeah, i think delta looks the best. it looks a little bit more realistic.

No offense to our wonderful brothers in the British SAS, but as long as the cover features a U.S. Marine, I'm just tickled. It's always nice to see some Marines in video games. Most war shooters are WW2 games set in Europe, so you don't see many Marines there. I'm not sure why they don't have those games set in the Pacific ... Marines aren't the only ones that have had too little attention. (That's a shoutout to the Aussies and Canadians out there.)
DocParanoia @ Jul 21st 2007 8:45PM
Delta ftw
paul @ Jul 21st 2007 11:00PM
yeah delta is what i like the most
Toph @ Jul 21st 2007 11:02PM
Echo for me. Has the most texture, the most grit, and the most character. Halo 3 is the biggest FPS on Xbox so to establish a difference on the shelf and in game, that texture layer of detail is a HUGE aspect that sets COD4 apart. I signed up for the site the night of E3, so yeah, I voted today.

"Storage Required"
Hmm.. I wonder if that's only for saved games or they actually use require it to make the game so visually stunning. Although if that were the case then how much could a memory stick help. If it demands an HDD then clearly they're using it to perform the stunning visuals we've seen so far.
Perhaps we'll be seeing this feature in more future games (hopefully... having a removable HDD was a stroke of genius, having it not mandatory was a ridiculous step back)

They all look so similar. Come on, if you're going to claim to give the power to the fans, don't let the only option be the same picture 4 times. Let down. And I think all of them look bad.

@Jonathan
Shaatttt up.... Thoroughly annoying post. Some people are just never satisfied. Ever think maybe they just had those slightly different iterations of the same general idea for the box art and couldn't decide which one to go with?
Ciaran Gallagher @ Jul 22nd 2007 6:22AM
There's little difference between them.
Turboman @ Jul 22nd 2007 7:12AM
I like both on the right side. :> Charlie (in the middle) is the worst one, because that soldier looks kinda fat on it. :D
ccc @ Jul 22nd 2007 3:00PM
Top Left.
Drav @ Jul 23rd 2007 9:45AM
Definitely alpha. The close-up makes it look grittier.
