NECA has
announced a new partnership with
Epic Games, in which it will produce a new line of
Gears of War collectibles. Said collectibles are set to include action figures, busts, dioramas, and even "prop" replicas (full size Lancer anyone?). The
toys collectibles are expected to be available in 2008, just in time for a possible sequel to the 360's breakout hit. An interesting tidbit in the press release is that NECA has acquired the license for
Gears of War and "any potential sequels" to the game, adding fuel to such speculations. For those who are interested, NECA has produced many video game related collectibles, including toys based on
Resident Evil,
Hitman,
Tomb Raider, and an upcoming line of
Castlevania toys. No further information, such as which specific
Gears of War toys will be made or how much they will cost, has been revealed.

Action figure supergeek here. The upcoming CastleVania Symphony of The Night wave will be in the existing 'Player Select' line this October.

I want a Dom and Baird figure, maybe like a poster would be nice. Don't think I'd shell out cash for a shotgun or a lancer but it'd be cool as hell.

remember when 360 players got hosed on gears of war when it got ported to the PC with a whole shit load of new content?

wait a year to get the new content? sure.
considering games written for 360 and xp arn't all that different, the only thing that holding the PC game up is the new content.
i would bet my arms and legs they could release the same game as the 360 version TODAY.

I havnt seen anything this company has done before. Are there models as nice as Mcfarlane spawn stuff? I want these to look really nice and detailed.
As far as what I'll get, put me down for 3 Marcus, and two of all the other cog and Lucust for that matter with the exception of General Ram, I'll take 3 of him as well.

Personally, I've purchased a NECA figure of Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. It's an awesome figure, so I think they'll do a good job with GOW.
