Yup just an hour ago I woke up and looked up the weekly ad on the Circuit City website. I'm so gonna get this! Free games since you get 1600 points for free!
Morgon @ Jul 29th 2007 10:52AM
They didn't have more than one 1600 Point Card at my CC, so I ended up 'having' to buy the 4000 as my sale initiator....
Gee, darn.
While not a "50%" reduction, it's still two (or four) games for free. Math's funny that way.
Sircolby45 @ Jul 29th 2007 11:00AM
Does this work online?
Sircolby45 @ Jul 29th 2007 11:03AM
More than my CC has Morgon lol. They are completely sold out already.
SeNiLe911 @ Jul 29th 2007 11:25AM
You can purchase online. If your CC is out of stock, try price matching it with Best Buy.
Yeti @ Jul 29th 2007 11:32AM
I just got back from my local CC. I'm glad I went early, as there was another guy in line who wanted the same deal...and there were only 5 cards left.
So I got two 1600 point cards for a total of $19.24. Not too shabby.
inferno3387 @ Jul 29th 2007 11:43AM
i am unable to get this to work on their site. it keeps trying make me pay the entire price... and its not worth driving to CC to pick them up...
SeNiLe911 @ Jul 29th 2007 11:55AM
@inferno3387
Place the order online and call 1-800-843-2489 to get a price adjustment.
drunkenironrabbit @ Jul 29th 2007 11:57AM
I love how the line says
'Project Sylpheed is available for the low, low price of $39.99'
I thought that that was suggested MSRP.., LOL the Fry Electronics across the street had it for $34.99, and its a great game.
Too bad i just changed jobs and i dont have the free money being caught between paychecks to take advantage of the $20 bucks off. My CC never has 1600 cards anyhow. It took 3 months just to get my free one that they owed me for buying GH2.
inferno3387 @ Jul 29th 2007 12:11PM
@SeNiLe911
They will not answer the phone. When I call it, it tells me that too many people are calling at "this" time and it just hangs up. I am about to just give up...
inferno3387 @ Jul 29th 2007 12:21PM
well it was a good deal, but screw it. i cant get their website to work with the points, and their phone support is down. so thanks anyway xbox360fanboy, but Ill just buy the points when I need them through my xbox dash board... CircuitCity has horrible support anyway...
Sergio @ Jul 29th 2007 12:31PM
does anybody know until when is this sale going on? all the stores around me are sold out...
Jermaine Pulliam @ Jul 29th 2007 12:37PM
so i went to my CC and they only had one!! Does best buy or wal-mart price match such sales?
toonces @ Jul 29th 2007 12:40PM
I called the 800# and spoke to a sales counselor. He was an ass. After talking to him about the fine print. He said the cards can only be purchased in stores. Again, its no wonder why I haven't bought anything from that place in years.
Jermaine Pulliam @ Jul 29th 2007 12:43PM
I really hate CC. That's why I never go into their store.
Gemini Ace @ Jul 29th 2007 1:53PM
Checking stock at my local CC's and they're all out. Who will price match?
J8675309 @ Jul 29th 2007 1:04PM
Don't bother going to the CC in Panama City, FL.
They are sold out! ;-)
Jermaine Pulliam @ Jul 29th 2007 1:11PM
All CC in the Orlando area are sold out as well. I think I'm going to see if Best Buy will price match it.
Andres @ Jul 29th 2007 2:32PM
consider miami off the list sold out.
YoRone22 @ Jul 29th 2007 1:50PM
I'll try a price match at Best Buy. I need some points on my Reward Zone card. :P
Thomas Newman @ Jul 29th 2007 1:55PM
When I went in today, they ahd adjusted the price to where if you buy 2 cards, the price of each drops to 17 bucks so you can't do it! Luckily the chick working the counter thought it was funny that I was working the deal and let me have it anyway.
K @ Jul 29th 2007 1:58PM
Just went to the CC in Modesto CA. They didn't have any on the floor. I asked the software person and he had 4 sitting there. I don't know if he was holding them for himself or someone called. He gave me 2 though. Went to the register and it wouldn't come up with the discount. After some discussion with her manager, they did it. She actually rang them up at $8.99 ea. So, after tax was &19.30. :)
ccc @ Jul 29th 2007 2:11PM
Some cockbangers got them all before I got there and the closest CC was a hour away for me. I was super pissed and almost got kicked out the store.
Jonathan @ Jul 29th 2007 2:46PM
I went to a New York City CC @ 1030 and they were all long, long gone.
I just bought a spare rechargable battery and Lego Star Wars 2 there for a total of $30. So it wasn't a waiste.
Benjamin09 @ Jul 29th 2007 3:35PM
Guys, if they are out of stock in the store. Ask politely if you can have them ordered. I did this and they are shipping 30 cards to me asap. It took the sales woman a while to enter this all in but I will receive 30 cards in the mail with 15 out of the 30 being "Free"
She rang the free ones up as a penny.
Just be nice about asking to ship them or order them to the store.
JBurton90 @ Jul 29th 2007 3:23PM
It says on CC.com that the deal goes on until the 4th sooo I guess ill try sometime this week.
antilucid @ Jul 29th 2007 3:29PM
I took the ad for circuit city and went to best buy for a price match. They accepted it and I walked out with 2 of the 1600 point cards for 20 bucks. I figured CC would not have the cards in stock. They are notorious for sales on items with little or no stock.
matt @ Jul 29th 2007 5:22PM
CC was pulling the cards off the shelves yesterday when I went to look for them. I had to brow beat them into finding a way to get them. Pretty funny when you walk in right when they open and they claim they sold out of them already.
My guess, they magically appear again on the 5th.
SRU Phil @ Jul 29th 2007 4:35PM
@ Benjamin09
Wow, you are a true fanboy!! lmao! 30 cards is the way to go. I bow down to you!
Anyway, CC on the boulevard in Philly is all out, so don't bother :(
Bryan T @ Jul 29th 2007 4:39PM
I don't think CC has has 30 of anything in their stores ever
Brave @ Jul 29th 2007 5:57PM
8-O I need money now
I called Circuit City today to see if this was true but they put me on hold and I didn't wanna wait, thank you for confirming this
SeNiLe911 @ Jul 29th 2007 6:03PM
I just got back from my local Best Buy & PM with no problem. I bought (10) $200 worth on one receipt and they marked each one down to $9.99, then I used my $20 BB Rewards Cert. and that dropped the price down to $7.99 each. My total bill was $86.09 with tax. FTW
I was going to get them at CC but they were sold out. I did buy an Xbox 360™ Wireless Headset and the Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows online this morning. I went to pick it up and then PM the Xbox 360™ Wireless Headset to Costco.com that had it for $44.99 and had them take the $20 off for buying two accessories since it did not take it off online. My total before the PM was $86.18 after PM my Grand Total was $48.47. FTWWW
If you want to know why CC was mostly out of stock today is partly because of this thread linked below that was posted 3 days ago. They pre-ordered the points and then went in today to get a price adjustment.

TMD @ Jul 29th 2007 6:08PM
I think they made a mistake by not having fine print on the ad. I hit my local CC store, and while they didn't have any 1600 pt cards on the shelf, they had them at the registers. When they rang me up, the system only gave me $9 off. I showed them the ad, they had a huddle with the person in charge, and wound up taking $20 off of Project Sylpheed to make up the diff. I noticed that the system had then decided I was worth a $7 discount - so somehow, I got an extra $7 off. During all of this, the guy at the register told me that their 'system' was slow due to a power outage at the HQ and wasn't updated properly for the ad. I get the feeling they will be issuing a 'correction' that will be prominently displayed in the 360 section soon...
vash429 @ Jul 29th 2007 6:38PM
people if your cc is out wait the deal goes thru Aug. 4
Jermaine Pulliam @ Jul 29th 2007 6:45PM
People, screw Circuit City. I went to my best buy in Orlando with the ad, was able to get as many as I wanted with no problem. They even knew about the deal and stocked up on them because they know that CC sucks balls. Plus I got points towards my Reward Zone card. Just go to best buy, the Price Match with no problem.
Bryan T @ Jul 29th 2007 6:49PM
My best buy had to call CC, of whom had none.
"Sorry, we can't price match it becuase they are out of stock"

Matt @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:52PM
Circuit City in Mesquite, TX is a major pain! I went in to see about getting two of the discounted 1600 point cards and was immediately greeted by a large sign stating the current $20 off 2 $20 products. I noted that for clarification then went to the xbox 360 accessories section where I was unable to find even a placeholder for 1600 point cards! Only 4000 point cards! I went to ask a sales associate who told me that he wasn't in charge of that section and he didn't know who was. He offered to look up the sale online to see if they had any 1600 point cards in the store. The Circuit City website is down! Big surprise. Another sales associate then approaches him informing him that their credit card machines are down. He refuses to even walk with me over to the videogame section to see if there was the 1600 point cards there. I left and went to best buy.
YoRone22 @ Jul 29th 2007 8:12PM
My Best Buy didn't price match. I'm gonna go back on Tuesday and try again.
Bobby @ Jul 29th 2007 9:21PM
My CC was cleaned out but I went to my BB and got the last 4 they had.
inferno3387 @ Jul 29th 2007 9:23PM
@Bryan T
Bestbuy did the SAME thing to me. They refused to price match b/c CC was out, then I drove to CC, and they had them in the store.... So I headed back to bestbuy to tell the manager, he didnt believe me. Screw BestBuy, circuit city is way better... I hate BB so much...
Ian Guarnieri @ Jul 29th 2007 9:27PM
I went to a CC in East Hanover NJ today and they had a disclaimer on the wall over the accesories saying the deal was only good with the purchase of a 360 Elite. They said the add was a misprint. I talked to the manager but he said he woldn't budge!
Jermaine Pulliam @ Jul 29th 2007 11:14PM
@Ian Guarnieri
that is total bs. See, I hate shady managers and in my experience, most of them have been at CC. I know it's a hassle but I would report him to CC's customer service. I mean, if it's worth the hassle.
Jake @ Jul 30th 2007 10:17AM
I went to circuit city and they were sold out, however Best Buy had some and I took them the ad and they did a price match. So still worked which was cool.
PacoDG @ Jul 30th 2007 7:08AM
All right Mr Jermaine Pulliam, I will be driving up to my local Circuit City (so I can have a physical copy of the ad) and then going right down the road to Best Buy. I am in Orlando (Ocoee specifically), so I am trusting your posts!
Sunny @ Jul 30th 2007 8:20AM
The CC website said there was at least two in stock. (I added two to my cart and it said in stock, but when I changed it to four it said it wasn't avalible.) I went there and the shelf spot was empty. I had someone check the computer and it confirmed that two was in stock... but when he checked the back room, there was nothing.
So I tried BestBuy. The girl in the video games section said they'd match the deal, so I went to the counter with them. The asked me if they were in stock at CC and I had to open my big mouth and say "no"... So they told me they couldn't do it. I should have just said "The website said it was."
I tried another BB but they only had one card left. :( Does the CC website work with the deal? I'll have to try that later.
Michael Paul @ Jul 30th 2007 9:57AM
I got my two 1600 point cards, but it was difficult.
The computer didn't handle the discount, so the cashier had to knock $10 each off the cards. After it was all over, I noticed an additional $1 per card had been deducted, like they'd put a discount on just to short-circuit the $19.99 freebie. With tax it ended up just a little over $18. Good thing I was there 3 minutes after the store opened, since there were only 4 cards to be had and this place doesn't usually have stock in the back.
Now if only they'd get the 500GB SATA drive I also wanted back in stock...
Jermaine Pulliam @ Jul 30th 2007 9:59AM
@PacoDG If it doesn't work, if you're close to Waterford Lakes you should try there. When I went to the counter, they already knew about the sale. Let us know how it works out.
rob paek @ Jul 30th 2007 10:27AM
Yeah I had some issues with this sale as well. Anyone interested can read my experience at my blog. It's fairly detailed, but if you want to know how to handle it, try what I did. http://pekosrob.blogspot.com/2007/07/xbl-deal-at-circuit-city-this-week.html
polar @ Jul 30th 2007 10:55AM
Wow, thank god I had no issues.
Price Matched twice at the same Best Buy. 6400 points for $43. Sweet Deal.
-Lynnwood, WA.
ccc @ Jul 30th 2007 11:34AM
@45
I went to the CC in Orlando on Semeron and they had a shit grin look on thier face when I asked if they had some in the back. Like I said b4, I almost got thrown out. BB better honor this deal, but Im gonna hit the BB in Lansing,Mi.
