Halo 3 Legendary helmet spotted in the wild

A a few shots of the Halo 3 Legendary helmet hit our inbox today featuring photos from a Wal-mart display and on a Bungie employee's desk. Van Faulk sent us shots of a Wal-mart display showcasing the Legendary helmet in all its glory sitting next to a DVD pre-sell kit which includes a poster of some sort. The DVD case gives a nice size comparison for folks who still think the helmet is the size of a cat's head. The other set of photos comes from ProjectMod who stumbled across the pictures on a Bungie employee's MySpace page. What's cool to see in this set of photos is the black box (in all its cardboard glory) the Legendary edition is packed in. Though, we don't think the plush frog beanie comes in this edition of Halo 3, but we'll ask Microsoft and get back to you on that. I saw one of these at my local Wal-Mart a few days ago... Had I realized that it was anything special, I'd have taken pictures of it too. ;)

I am still deciding whether I should fork up the money and buy the legendary edition. I mean I really have no use of the helmet unless I sell it and if they say there is a limited supply of them do you think they are going to be worth more say on EBAY. Thats probably the only way I will buy it is if I turn around and sell it for more so let me know if you think its worth it. Thanks

I can't wait for mine. I periodically check that it is still pre-ordered.

I only hope that the 1 day delayed Euro launch doesn't mean that America gets the majority of the Legendary. What am I talking about of course America will get the majority.

Although it's not big enough to wear... Shitty...

I guess I'll just have to genetically enhance and combat train my children to be Spartans by the age of 10 so they can wear it and fulfull my dream...

lol I wish !! When the movie comes out I hope they come out with full Spartan armor... So I can rob banks with it !

Or I could use it as my entrance for UFC !!

Imagine a UFC fighter coming into the octagon wearing spartan armor and then dismantling it piece by piece before he walks into the octagon...

If that's not intimidating then I don't know what is... I would just give up if I was the other guy...

i'm surprised it's that big as well, but when you think about it, 2 DVD cases are going to fit inside of it sideways(from what i remember from pictures), not long ways, so it makes sense.
i still can't see spending $50 extra on the helmet case though, the collectors edition is plenty for me.

It's not just the helmet... You also get a more in-depth SECOND making of disc and a disc of all the remastered Cutscenes from Halo 1 and 2...

Think about it this way...

This is the first and last time you'll be purchasing Halo 3...

This is an important day in gaming history and it won't happen again... You might as well go all out...

For me the only solution is...

Legendary edition or nothing...

Do or do not... There is no try...
