Halo 3 marketing invades BK, 7-11, Pontiac and more

Starting in August we'll all be witness to one of the most amazing events a fanboy can see when the Halo 3 marketing machine starts its engines and goes full steam ahead. We've already seen a few Halo 3 promotions from Halo 3 branded Zunes to Halo 3 branded Xbox 360s, but soon we'll be seeing Master Chief in a more mainstream light.

Over at Xbox Family are details that they've discovered telling of a few of Microsoft planned promotions and partnerships that'll be beginning in the months to come. So, let's run through them. The Halo 3 "Game Fuel" Mountain Dew is expected to be available sometime in August and will be purchasable in cans, bottles, and special aluminum bottles at 7-11 stores. Speaking of which, 7-11 stores will be featuring three Halo 3 Slurpee cups as well as bags of Doritos chips which will offer a chance to win a voice cameo in Halo Wars. Pontiac is also jumping in on the Halo 3 marketing fun by co-branding the game with their Pontiac G6 in commercials, events and in a sweepstakes where they'll be giving away a Halo 3 themed Pontiac G6. Halo 3 will also be a sponsor of the Projekt Revolution tour featuring Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance. Finally, Burger King will be offering Halo 3 themed meals starting in September and selling what they call "survival kits".

As you can see, the Halo 3 marketing machine is a force to be reckoned ad you know there are more promotions and events that Xbox Family hasn't listed. You can of course expect Xbox Live activities as well as some sort of huge Halo 3 launch party. Ahh yes, Halo 3 and your marketing power ... you're so dreamy.

when u say that they are haveing halo themed meals does that mean i can get a kids meal and get a little toy grunt. if thats what it means then im going to get a kids meal every day. maby there will be little toy warthogs and ghosts and energy swords and grunts and elites and drones and master chiefs and elites.
i hope that this is what there doing becuz i'd go and get a kids meal and i have'nt had one in like 6 years.

Wow...that is big. You know Microsoft and Bungie expect this game to do well when SO many things start being connected to the game. For Halo 3, they are pulling out ALL the stops. This is their baby.

Well since Hot Topic is the only store in the malls that I ever see Halo 3 merch it only makes sense to sponsor the Projekt Revolution tour...

Speaking of Linkin Park (sort of) what the hell was up with that new album? I know rap / rock is sort of dead and all but...damn.

You can't have a game as popular as Halo 3 and not have all of this kind of stuff happen. Microsoft and Bungie know that Halo 3 is going to be their biggest games yet. If you want your game to sell, you advertise it.

I knew almost nothing about Guitar Hero 80's coming out... and I love the Guitar Hero games. There should have If all they said was "game's out on September 25.. buy it please" and never said anything about it, it'd never sell. Bungie isn't stupid, they know they have to milk this for all it's worth.

I'll be content driving my Pontiac Halo G6, on the way to picking up my Legendary edition of Halo 3, while making a quick stop at Burger King for my Survival Kit and then washing it all down with some Gamefuel that I put into my Halo 3 7-11 cup while listening to some PHAT BEATZ on my Halo 3 Zune, which I will be turning off when I am busy reading my Contact Harvest Novel...

This game already sells itself... there really isn't a need to market much aside from 9/25 as the launch date so those who have held out on buying a 360 for Halo 3 can finally do so.

Ya I'm all up for some co-op/multiplayer with you guys when it comes out... In fact I might even host a LAN party to anyone that wants to come... Although I live in Toronto so... Good luck lol

Don't get me wrong, I like multiplayer but seriously...

Nothing beats 4 interconnected Xbox's with 16 players all within throwing and/or smacking range...

GOD I MISS LAN PARTIES !!

Anyway... If there IS online co-op I will certainly be playing the campaign multiple times for Skulls, Achievements and "Let's try to get all the way up there" kind of missions...

@3 - I agree, Linkin Park's new album sounds like shit. I can't make it past the first few tracks. I know rap-rock's sort of a dead genre, but these guys are probably one of the few bands that did it well enough to have staying power. They're turning their backs on a genre they helped define...

Mike Shinoda (the rapper from Linkin Park) has to be the the biggest poser alive. He spent the past ten years trying to convince everybody he is a rapper (lol), and now he is trying to convince everybody that he's not (he's apparently a guitarist now [rotfl]). What a douche.

I am lovin all this Halo 3 advertising. I still have my slurpee cups from Halo 2! haha That Pontiac G6 looks sweet. I would LOVE to have that car! I wanna build me a warthog too! haha I'm a HUGE halo fangirl. I got the tattoo to prove it! >_< I'm up for some Halo 3 online co-op too.

I'm excited for H3 to come out. I played the beta and I loved it. I actually seemed to play better when I played the beta than when I play MM on halo 2.
