Project Offset trailer doles out goosebumps
Ah, sweet Project Offset. There are few games that have us as intrigued as Project Offset. Initially touted as something of a squad-based, fantasy first person shooter, it had us hooked from the word go. And then almost all traces of the game vanished. Sure, we had snippets of info here and there: a teaser or two, a viral campaign of sorts (that has since disappeared). But then, nothing. Until now, it seems, as a trailer of the game has been leaked onto the internet. On the official website, the Project Offset team pleads that news sites not show the video. Considering said plea is actually the first time the Project Offset site's news section has been updated since October of 2006, we can hardly deny our news hungry readers such a tender morsel. Watch the video above -- which sports first and third person viewpoints and touts 5 distinct classes -- and dream.

i have to go get a mop to whipe up the drool

Huge downgrade in graphics though :(
I was hoping the developers would be able to keep graphics unchanged from what was shown in some of the game's earlier trailers.

We'll see what happens...

Don't count your chickens before they hatch... The game looks pretty damn sweet either way and the tech demo videos were not very high in action. We wont really know until they release a true HD version of this trailer.... yes i watched the one that said HD but its not really that good of quality.... Hell even quality HD vids can fail to do some games justice.
russny @ Jul 30th 2007 9:13PM
I know, Darko ;)
But this wouldn't be the first time developers downgrade the graphics for the console release.
I found the tech demos to be very impressive, and I really want the final product to retain such high level of quality in terms of animation, graphics and lighting.
I'm not passing judgment on this game just yet, I was merely pointing out the fact that the graphics seem to have been downgraded in this particular trailer when compared to some of the earlier videos.
I do hope this game turns out to be an Oblivion-killer :D It definitely looks promising!
Nogg @ Jul 30th 2007 9:22PM
Definitely something I'll be looking into, I doubt there will be what was earlier said as a downgrade in the graphics once it becomes a final product, and like Darko said, True HD will do it justice.

give it a rest lol, they'll tweak it till its great, the games still looking wicked, large worlds and when they go outside with the dragon flapping around... WOW thats breathtaking! And wow some damn good lighting, this is gonna be another one of those 360 games i really really really want ... i just hope they continue to improve towads release.
mark @ Jul 30th 2007 11:15PM
sort of looks like a tighter oblivion...with a better 3rd person camera, hopefully Bethesda does something similar with fallouts 3rd person camera

Looks really good. But why the hell does a fantasy game have a sci-fi name like Project Offset? That's kinda dumb.
ccc @ Jul 31st 2007 5:24AM
What is the engine this game is running off of?
Keef @ Jul 31st 2007 5:25AM

@11
The "Offset Engine" is used.
"The Offset Engine is a complete platform for creating next generation games. Though it aims to be a top tier engine, OE is not just built with large developers in mind. Every aspect of the engine is designed around the goal of reducing development time and cost, while empowering designers and artists with the tools they need to create spectacular visual effects and immersive environments."
