Europeans getting 360 price cut love?

A European tipster has sent us info that Europeans may be getting the same 360 price cut satisfaction that seems destined to hit the US. Our tipster snapped a few pictures at a Dutch Media Markt, showcasing a €50 price reduction across all Xbox 360 models. This puts the Core at €249 and the Premium at €349. The tipster notes that Media Markt always lists temporarily discounted products in its weekly ad. The 360 price cut is not mentioned in the weekly ad, which seems to point toward a permanent price cut. With the Xbox 360 Elite touching down in Europe in just a few weeks (August 24 for those keeping score) the timing for a price cut seems about right. Have any of our European readers seen similar price reductions in their areas?
[Thanks, itsgreen]

I don't know how it is in the rest of europe, but in Norway it's not unusual for some shops to sell 360's cheaper than the MSRP

Hopefully this is true - but I'm hesitant to buy one unless I'm sure *it works* (no RROD, no scratched disks) even though we have a 24 month warranty for everything and 36 months for RRODs.
Even here in Finland (the ultimate rip off place generally) one store sells Xbox 360 Premium for 330 EUR, but that's probably just a temporary offer. That's actually an excellent offer considering Wii is 270 EUR.
However, Xbox 360 Premium is closer to 400 EUR normally, but it's possible to pick up a bundle with Gears of War and NHL07 for that price (or with something like Crackdown only).
Xbox 360 Elite is being listed generally at 489 EUR, PS3 with Resistance, Motorstorm and extra controller is about 670 EUR.

Actually, Xbox 360 has been for sale in Finland for 349 euros for ages. I haven't seen Core version anywhere except the online shops, but all retailers here have sold the 360 for 349 euros for months.

Yeah, I bought a premium Xbox 360 for 325€ two months ago from a local shop in Finland. And one month later the same shop dropped the price to 299€ for one week.

This is no bargain at all. I bought my brand new XBox 360 Premium for 299.00 Euros half a year ago.
There are lots of online dealers (check Ebay) who can sell you one for that price.

Europe might be getting it but it's always different here in the UK.

Here this shop also in the Netherlands is selling the premium for 350 Euro, long before mediamarkt did.

This is old news, the xbox360 has been sold for €350 or less for a long time now all around Europe...
P.S. To comments number 7. The UK was still a part of Europe last time I checked. I know you wish you were te 51st state of America but you are not, so get over it...

i was under the influence that the elite price was really high because of taxes evn higher than the ps3s price so how does the premium cost that little.

In the Media Markt around the corner from work, I currently didn´t come across any significant price cuts, but heres hoping Austrian Media Markt is soon to follow...

It doesn't mean it is an official price cut, maybe they have just lowered the price.
The Premium has been £270 in the UK since launch, with few shops doing any deal, maybe a free game.
The Core recently dropped from £197 to £164 in many places.
If the console is getting a price cut in the UK I reckon they will take £30 off the premium the way they did to the Core.

Here in the UK, there has been no official price drop but prices have been creeping down for a while, play had the premium at 230 and amazon have been doing lots of different deals, the best one with crackdown, GoW, XBL unplugged, PGR3, a game of your choice and a wireless pad for £300 (when the halo 3 beta had just started)
I'm hoping for 199 and no more core like Australia, but i think its more likely the premium goes to £250/230 and the core stays at £149, where boots have been selling it for weeks, or were when I last checked
