A while back the achievements for
Halo 3 were leaked onto the interwebs for everyone to see, but it was very obvious that the achievement list wasn't finished or polished. But there has been an update and thanks to
Achieve360Points they feel they have the officially official list of all 49 achievements. The biggest changes to the list are the descriptions for achievements 41-49 where it now states you need to earn a score of 15,000 for each. Also, the old "Spartan Program Recruit" achievement's name has been changed to "Graduate". The old
Halo 3 achievement list was nearly complete, but now with the few changes, we think we have the final list of what Bungie will be including in the game. Go ahead Spartan, analyze your achievements and take note of the amazing feats you must complete to be Mr. 1000 Gamerscore in
Halo 3.
[Thanks, Ryan]

Where can I get a high resolution version of that picture? It looks like it would make an ace background!

Thanks for that Dustin, I wonder what a campaign meta-game means. I bet you'll have to use legendary or atleast heroic for the new achievements.
SGT Monty @ Aug 5th 2007 10:49AM
Bungie has announced that the meta-game will be scoring in the regular campaign levels. You get points for kills and even more points for doing it with style (headshots, assassinations, sticks, etc.)
I believe this was in either the latest update or podcast.
Swampfox23 @ Aug 5th 2007 12:19PM
Meh, the achievements are still weak. Multiplayer needs alot more, that would add much more replay value.
Anticrawl @ Aug 5th 2007 12:25PM
I for one welcome the change of pace for achievements. Finally a game that is more achievement heavy in the campaign. Will lower the vast amount of people who spend their time in my multiplayer match whoring for achievements.
Token White Guy @ Aug 5th 2007 12:28PM
I can't stand multiplayer achievements, it takes the fun out of the game. If you have a achievement for 100 rocket kills everyone will be whoring the rocket launcher and not helping your team.
DaveC @ Aug 5th 2007 12:29PM
I'm with Anticrawl on that one. Achievements usually in terms of single player modes mean, finish the 1st level, finish the game. This is a welcome change.
Mikeawesome @ Aug 5th 2007 1:07PM
So basically what this achievement list tells me is I'm getting 2-3 of my buddies who pick it up on release just like me, to hop online and play some co-op on Legendary so we can get about 3/4 of the achievements. Does that sound about right? That sounds about right to me. Though, there may be more alcohol involved in the final product.
mattclarkie @ Aug 5th 2007 12:41PM
I like Single Player achivements, most games under ranked them. Many people I see with large gamerscores haven't even played the single playerm, you can tell because they don't have things like the Training achievement, or in GoW Prison Break.
I hate Co-op achievements, as I don't get much time to play them, and MP that demand hours, I never get them, but I always complete the Single player. Campaign is what I paid for, and what most of the development was on.
These achievements look like a good mix.

TYEH AER TEH UBER PWNAGE!!!
Barron @ Aug 5th 2007 1:07PM
wtf why are all multiplayer achievements for rumble pit?!?!?
SRU Platinum @ Aug 5th 2007 1:08PM
These achievements suck. Like how the multiplayer ones are all Free-for-All. What about people like me that hate free-for-all?
Anticrawl @ Aug 5th 2007 1:13PM
Yeah while I don't much care for the fact that the multiplayer achievements are free-for-all I do like the fact that most of them are campaign oriented. 4 player legendary here I come.
Who Flang Poo @ Aug 5th 2007 1:19PM
They are still too easy.
Arnie @ Aug 5th 2007 1:57PM
I think co-op needed some specific points.Other than these I am glad the campaign got the bulk of the points. I am horrible at playing against people and can never achieve the points which other people get.
agdTinMan @ Aug 5th 2007 3:19PM
"Meh, the achievements are still weak. Multiplayer needs alot more, that would add much more replay value."
Right, because nobody's playing Halo 2 Multiplayer right now... hardly any replay value there. They should have had achievements, people might still be playing that...
Oh, wait a minute, there's 40 THOUSAND people playing it still, right now, and nearly 300 THOUSAND in the last 24 hours!
"replay value"...

some smack talking from bungie (half way down) about MP achievements and GoW

I'm glad they seemed to have changed or modified the Achievements. Call me a purist but I saw the first list and felt a little dirty for seeing them so early. I'm glad they're different now; I don't feel as if I'd spoiled things for myself now.
Imadogg @ Aug 5th 2007 9:10PM
Wow achievements woohoo.
I play for the fun of the game, in any game. Don't care about achievements.
Lmao at the dude complaining about multiplayer replay value
mike @ Aug 5th 2007 9:56PM
whats funny is they ruined rumble pit with these achivements. people (like me) who only like team games are going to head into the rumble pit game type and ruin it for everyone just going for these achievments.
Im mad and happy at the same time. Happy because i wont have stupid team mates going for x achievment in my games, and sad because i cant get the achivments while playing with friends, and need to go off and play by myself which is super unfun. (yes so man people seem to play rumble pit?)
Grant @ Aug 6th 2007 12:40AM
these look pretty doable.
i'm glad they kept the achievements out of team based MP, they basically ruined GOW ranked matches.
i'm assuming the mission achievements count in co-op as well, so that should make things a little easier and fun to do.
agdTinMan @ Aug 6th 2007 1:35AM
"whats funny is they ruined rumble pit with these achievements"
I don't know how the listed medals would ruin rumble pit. Aren't they all things people would be trying to do anyway?
I'd imagine the reason they're not in team games is so you won't have someone on your own team killing you to get the sword, needler, etc. But in free for all, that's the whole point.
oh teh noes! he's ruining the game by calling "i get teh sword"!
fyreblazer @ Aug 6th 2007 10:40AM
I agree with most, I can't stand MP achievements because I barely have time to play that much MP these days. I'd rather more Co-op and campaign achievements because I'd prefer to play with friends then have to deal with all the anonymous assholes on Live.
holden @ Aug 15th 2007 1:45AM
I think the achievements are great it allows basically all users to achieve theses points some are a challenge but i think everyone will be able to get 1000 Gp. I dont like that it has to be in a free for all match, but i guess its easier to get them then. i think the easiest one is to beat legendary its so easy to do that. I think bungie did a a great job making the achivements
MO @ Aug 24th 2007 4:44PM
Any word on do you get the points if you beat the game on legendary on co op or do u have to beat it on single player to get the acheivements?
Andy @ Sep 19th 2007 5:21PM
4 player Legendary co-op is going to be impossible I've realized. I've played and beaten Legendary with several friends alternating levels, and every time someone did something stupid late in the level, like run into a room full of guys, it usually resulted in a well-aimed controller shaped projectile flying towards their head. With four people, someone will be doing something stupid every few seconds it seems. Hopefully they took out the one team death means restart in H3. It would be better if that person was just eliminated from the level, when they died on Legendary.
Re the achievements: I don't know about you guys, but I have one login that i built about 6k achievements on, and then made another act for live that has about 300 achievement points... Sorta selfdefeating to think that I can't get the multiplayer achievements on one login and won't get the single player achievements on the other... Anyway, anyone who cares enough about achievements to change their gameplay towards gaining achievements over helping their team win, is a little girl(no offense to little girls out there).
