Puzzle Fighter to be rebalanced for XBLA
It's no secret that we here at X3F are very excited to get our hands on Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. It's a genuine classic and a welcome title on Xbox Live Arcade (as well as the PSN). While we were looking forward to the classic gameplay, it seems that the folks at Capcom came to realize that the game could actually use a few tweaks. These changes are detailed by Sirlin, one of the game's designers. Fans of the original release will know that certain characters (Ken) are much better than other characters (Chun-Li). This is because of drop patterns. Each character in Puzzle Fighter drops a predetermined pattern of blocks on their opponents when attacking. Knowing your opponents drop pattern is crucial if you want to build the appropriate counter measures. Some characters, to put it simply, have easy drop patterns that leave them wide open to counter attack, particularly characters that drop whole power gems like Felicia and Chun-Li. As such, Capcom has decided to tamper with gaming history to come up with some more challenging patterns. An example of these changes is shown at the top right of this post. There are some other interesting changes too, such as leaving Chun-Li's pattern unchanged but allowing her to cause 120% damage. She is the strongest woman in the world after all. Frankly, we think these changes were a great idea, and we imagine most Puzzle Fighter fans will agree. Oh, and don't worry, Dan's pattern is still completely red, so, if you've got what it takes, you can still school people with the worst character in the game. See the complete list of changes, as well as the reasoning behind them, after the jump.

Dan v. Dan is actually a great test of nerve, speed building, and reading the inital pattern. If you are the first to attack, you either make it perfect or just enough that you get him on the next round.
Plus it's just plain fun to play as a party game.
Now, I just have to find a 360 controller with a decent cross-pad.

I want to flame you MYPS3KilledMy360, but I don't know what you're talking about.
Anyways, today has been been pretty slow, but I'm sure PS3 fanboy's are used to having these kind of days.
However, I do see some buzz at the nearly "perfect" Bioshock review (hooray for X3F), some buzz over the stupid ways to get into the COD4 beta, and of course anything H3 related.
Lol everytime I go into PS3 fanboy, you guys are always arguing amongst yourselves!

OH come on!! They should give you the option to change the patterns. Like difficulty "easy hard"

hahahahaha with all the retareded spelling stupid nonsense i thought i could attract a certain someone. but to no avail. people on my comments usually because of my name. that i used as a joke referring to an atricle but i get bashed just because i disagree on some topics or i give a logical out come that could swing in the PS3s favor or 360s. Some people like to follow the masses but i like to mix it up. ill give an example the PS3 is not a failure its progress is a miracle in its own respect. 4.5 million consoles with no games, sh*tty online, and no content but yet people buy it. Sony after looking at there pass mistakes they have corrected and sacrifised for the greater cause. Beeing out done in power and functionality the already new what they wanted. By actually creating quality hardware(2% failure), more features Blu Ray, Internet B, PSN store, Home, Folding at Home, and with every upcoming update it gets better they have one part of the war. But the 360 in its first year suffered from the some of the same thing too with lack of killer Apps(Halo3)but brought it back during the holiday with GoW. the 360 advantage is MSs superior marketing skills, avalibale games, content, creating a large fanbase and great appeal, do to its one years start but wounded by its failure rate making it not as appealing but still loved by all do to its up coming games(do i need say more). I more towards PS3 right now because my box is dead cant sell it MS wont repair for free. with games coming out for ps3 im not gonna sacrifice UIII, LBP or HS for a box that might brake again. i got so many 360fanboys around me that ill just play Halo3 co op over there house i know its a bum move but i still get to finish the fight.

To each his own, we can't "force" people to play Xbox 360 or PS3, you and I and all gamers have different preferences and choices. You comment about the failure rate in which your accurate, but to me I rather have my Xbox replaced or fixed 100 times before submitting to a PS3.
The number one reason I "love" my Xbox 360 is for the reason that you stated: "up coming games(do i need say more). " - no you don't need to say more, but you still do ;)

@7 i totally agree, i bought a wii because of the fitness aspect and plus resident evil 4 feels so much better when you're "in the game"
I've yet to see a PS3 game thats made me think "hmm maybe £400 isn't that much to spend"
Ninja gaiden came close but as i've still got the xbox version to tie me over it obviously wasn't close enough

Drop patterns eh? Sounds quite boring.
