Shipping this week: just Madden edition

It's that time of year once again. No, it's not time to go visit Grandma and sample her famous Apple Brown Betty (although that does sound pretty tasty), it's time for yet another edition of Madden to hit the shelves. Football fans look to be in luck, as Madden seems to have overcome its new generation jitters and delivers a solid football experience. At least, that's the impression we're getting from the early reviews. Besides, if you want NFL football, it's not like you really have a choice, right?

You might see 2 Worlds but doubtful.
Knary50 @ Aug 13th 2007 3:35PM
Why doesn't very one just learn to play for real instead of playing with a plastic controller .... oh wait this is a GHIII or Rock band thread.
Ban Madden until they release a game and just release updates every year. Just another way of the Man (EA) sticking it to the little guy. I am going back to 10 yard fight and Super Tecmo Bowl.

I'll wait 7 more days and get a real game, BIOSHOCK BABY!
Bravo6 @ Aug 13th 2007 3:48PM

MrViznasty @ Aug 13th 2007 3:51PM
if madden is the same every year how come it got better reviews than years before? that doesnt make much sense to me. and if you dont like like madden...why write comments about it? you dont see me writing comments on games like WOW. play what you want...just dont be annoying about it
Chester Cheetah @ Aug 13th 2007 4:00PM
i'll be pickin this one up for sure!!!!
Killer @ Aug 13th 2007 4:02PM
@MrViznasty
It's better fps wise and its executed perfectly.
I stopped by madden since 2005 waiting for real Next-Gen. Now that the fps is 60 and no hiccups in the game. I'm ready to buy it. I can see the difference in 30fps vs 60fps on my tv. So don't tell me You really cant tell the difference. I've compared 07's footage to 08's footage on my tv. It has some major inhancement with the fps. So I'll pick this up when CC or BB has some sale in a week or 2. Always happens.

I've already purchased 2K Sports Football game this year. Why do I need this one now?
ccc @ Aug 13th 2007 4:48PM
what a sack
Toph @ Aug 13th 2007 5:37PM
Madden is too techy for me, to be honest about it. I've tried it twice in the past and it intimidated me a little. I just want a super cool, jump-in-and-play NFL game...
Good choice at pics tho, Richard! Bengals trouncing the Steelers is ALWAYS the way to go :)
MrViznasty @ Aug 13th 2007 5:55PM
@Killer
i know there is a big difference this year...i only said that statement bc everyone comes on forums and sites like these and complain their asses off about how madden is the same thing every year and how people who like it are idiots for buying it every year. when they should be spending their time doing something else...
Titty Pink @ Aug 13th 2007 8:11PM
Well it DOES suck every year, but you don't have to be stupid to buy it. I'd imagine most Madden sales happen in the first few weeks, mostly over the hype and anticipation that it won't be shitty. My problem is that even when it IS shitty, die hards won't admit it, or find other ways to make it acceptable to them to justify their purchase. Most people w/ friends that play Madden are pushed into buying it for one reason or another. Playing online or against the CPU isn't what Madden is about. It's about sitting right next to a guy and talking shit after you stomp his ass to the white meat. Its about the beating the guy that one of your friends thought was unbeatable. Like it or not it's almost a religion. Hell tomorrow is Maddenoliday. EA has us by the balls on this one...well at least some of you. As with many titles w/ cult followings, not my cup...
