Rumor: Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360 at the TGS
An interesting turn of rumored events have surfaced regarding Team Ninja's sequel to the beloved Ninja Gaiden franchise and its console future. According to Gamespot Korea (which is in Korean, so have fun reading that), they've "confirmed" with a Japanese gaming insider that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 and will be shown on the 360 at the Tokyo Game Show. They supposedly will be demoing the game on a 360 due to their strong relationship with Microsoft and because they probably love having fists full of cash. Also interesting to note is that the Japanese tipster said that a PS3 release wasn't detailed yet, hinting at a possible timed exclusive for the 360. Juicy stuff. But remember kids, we're nearly required to file this Ninja Gaiden 2 news in the rumor / spec folder, because of all the vagueness. Heck, we can't even read the Korean Gamespot story to confirm its text. But we have to admit the thought of Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360, at the TGS and being a timed exclusive just makes us giddy.
[Thanks, Jim]

wow one of the highest rated games on ps3 maybe jumpin to xbox, and possibly timed exclusive? Yikes that would be great!

@Alex B:
Jumping to 360? Ninja Gaiden was an Xbox game before Sigma. It wasn't even the lead developer at Team Ninja that was making the PS3 port. His attention was either into making Ninja Gaiden 2 or trekking to the world's finest nude beaches looking for ideas for a new franchise.

Itagaki doesnt make multiplatform games, This is being Developed for the xbox 360 specifically, so in any case it does come to ps3, it will be a port, and not until months after the 360 release atleast.

I don't believe this just yet. It would be nice to have a good Ninja game for Xbox.

Just to let you all know there's an update on the original article, with a translated version of the article using three separate internet-based translators. Suffice to say, none of them worked worth a damn.

I thought that this was already established.
PS3 Was getting an upgraded Port of Xbox's Ninja Gaiden.
360 was getting Ninja Gaiden 2.
Triforceowner @ Aug 19th 2007 5:33PM
To be honest I've thought of it like you have, TRUTH. Nothing official, mind you, but that has always been my thought.

I agree with the few other comments. Itagaki san was very clear that Ninja Gaiden 2 was going to be exclusive to the 360 while the PS3 got Sigma. He doesn't do multiplatform games because he feels the game needs to be completely focused for one specific console.
If you want to play this game you need to get yourself a 360, it's that simple. If Kojima aligns himself with PS3 and people defend it, this is no different.
KilgoreTrout XL @ Aug 19th 2007 7:42PM
This and Halo 3 were the main reasons I got the 360. Hope to hear something official soon.

cozmiester @ Aug 19th 2007 9:55PM
isn't ninja gaiden 2 a full exclusive at this point to the 360, they haven't confirmed that it is to be on the ps3 at all
lachlan @ Aug 19th 2007 10:27PM
original ninja gaiden was one of my xbox1 favourites. it was so difficult to get used to but so rewarding to play, especially in later levels.
it was also the game inside my console when it caught fire. :O (it was modded so that's why)
i'd put it on par with DMC4 right now but i think Gaiden 2 will be better if it can top what they did in the first one.
brent @ Aug 19th 2007 11:38PM
@ lachlan the original ninja gaindan was on the nes.

I believe he had said, Sigma will be ps3 exclusive, while Xbox 360 will get NG2.
Anyways, If they put as much spit and polish into this game as they did into Sigma... NG2 will be a must buy for me :)
