Stranglehold delayed, thugs thankful

You know, with a badass like inspector Tequila on the case, we imagine that the Hong Kong thugs are thanking their lucky stars that Stranglehold has been delayed. Xbox 360 gamers, on the other hand, probably not so pleased. Before you collectively turn your local game shop into a pile of debris that John Woo would be proud of, you should know that the game has only been delayed by just over a week. Originally promised for August 27th, GameStop is now informing customers that the game has been pushed to September 5th. See, that's not so bad, is it? You can take that, right? Just promise us you won't go all slo-mo and shoot up the place, m'kay?
[Thanks, Peter R. and Kyleia]

Honest to God,
I would be thankful for a few serious delays. This fall lineup is denting my wallet with all the games, and not enough time to play them.

Those sons a bitches. Any who, I got my Stranglehold fix. I know the one of the Lead Animators.
Token @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:06PM
Crap I got cut off. But he said the game is awesome.
DjDATZ @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:13PM
Thats only 8 days anyways...not NEARLY as bad as GTA4's release...
baby sea tuna @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:14PM
Crap! I was really looking forward to this.
I was trying to finish BioShock before this came out on Tuesday. Now I guess I should slow my roll a little. Or else just finish BS and try and take on the rest of Shadow's Colossi in the meantime...

I played the demo of this and was not impressed at all. Or was it just me? It uses the Unreal 3 engine but looks very last gen. On the good side ill save $$ to buy another game coming in soon in this busy release linup for the 360 =)

I'm absolutely shocked. Well, not that Stranglehold got delayed but that the working day is almost over on the East coast and Two Worlds still hasnt been pushed back AGAIN.
Bravo6 @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:16PM
I didn't think it was all that either. I'll probably snag it off eBay in a few months for $15.
Gemini Ace @ Aug 23rd 2007 6:32PM
Dammit!! This sucks balls!
TORO @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:27PM
Not on my radar
Lharmon @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:42PM
I don't know, looks fun to me. Kind of bummed, but I have games that I've never even opened... Just too many for me to play! This is good though, Rapture needs to be fully explored.
poprocker @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:50PM
all the good games are getting delayed.
Richard Mitchell @ Aug 23rd 2007 2:52PM
thisguyrighthere,
Don't worry. There's still time :)
Ashraam @ Aug 23rd 2007 3:22PM
I enjoyed the demo, much to my own surprise.
I was just annoyed by the fact that every time I tried to pick up ammo, or navigate through a room, or just take a look around I ended up hip-sliding across a countertop or food stand, etc. That action is WAY too sensitive.
I'll pick this game up, but I'm going to be waiting for a bargain so the delay doesn't bother me.
Modeps @ Aug 23rd 2007 3:49PM
whatever.
Its too much of a Max Payne clone. It's too gimmicky and repetitive. Just like Payne, its all based around bullet-time. Go into a room, dive and activate your special power, shoot people and objects, repeat in the next room.
Teabag @ Aug 23rd 2007 4:29PM
Ahh, no problem. I have Bioshock to tide me over till this one releases. But no more delays please. Or i am coming with my two 'best buddies' to your office Midway.
Alex Schelldorf @ Aug 23rd 2007 10:15PM
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the demo either. Here's hoping that GameFly/Blockbuster rentals can change my opinion.
anthony @ Aug 23rd 2007 8:06PM
god f**king damn it. nooo!!!
refinedsugar @ Aug 23rd 2007 8:25PM
Now GTA4 being delayed - a definite day one purchase - that hurt. Strangehold ... not so much.
Adam Beck @ Aug 23rd 2007 10:48PM
Hmmm Best Buy is advertising it as they will have it in stock August 29th... Oh noz! Change the flyer quickly =P
BluesmanTLU @ Aug 24th 2007 11:43AM
I thought the demo sucked, hardcore (or hard-boiled, or whatever). I was a little surprised given how much attention the game seems to be garnering.
It felt like a clunky Max Payne; and imitating a game many years old and not really doing much new with it is lame. Bullet time was great then; not so much now.
Jeff Skinner @ Aug 28th 2007 11:17PM
I enjoyed the demo, but i have to agree that the game was a bit repetitive. however the reason i am excited about the release is because of the multiplayer. you will have bullet time and slow-motion dives as you shoot-up up to 8 of your friends? sounds beast to me.
